How about the challenge that if the fins win more than 7 games, the starter of the thread goes into self imposed exile for a year?

Damn please no!!! I can't think of living without my .87 posts per day here acting as a secret undercover agent of the Bufallo Bills

I'll take that as a no. You are not willing to back up your ridiculous statements.

Now if you would only stop making them....

First of all I don't have to respond to anything you have posted. Your previous comments are pointless as is your supposed challenge. I grew up watching the Dolphins, saw Marinos first game and haven't missed a game in 20 freaking years. Just because I think this team is headed in the wrong direction doesn't make me any less of a fan than you. Deal with it or don't read this post.

:roflmao:

So sure, yet not....what happened to the reality you were spouting?

Quick change from "We are going 7-9 next year, time to face reality." to "Just because I think the team is headed in the wrong direction".... :roflmao: :roflmao:

Ok, so nobody has really looked at any of the points I brought up other than strength of schedule, but my definition of reality and my secret Bills identity has been exposed.. Great...

The points you made are nothing new. You look at the circumstances surrounding this team and you "feel" bad about the future. That is certainly one valid approach to take. But, your feelings about the Miami Dolphins...as real as they may be...are not reality.

If we already knew the outcome of the season, there would be no reason for playing it. Football is the greatest sport on the planet. Anything can happen. A team can shake off adversity and rise to the top. The way you or I feel about it is not a factor. We can do one of two things...Support or Attack.

The Dolphins are winners. There is no other team that I would rather lend my support. My feelings must align with that reality.

That's about as far as I got. It's May. Time to face reality.

Maybe you mentioned all this stuff in your post. But I'll go ahead anyway. Last year's team was "good enough" to get us 10-6 and very close to 12-4/13-3. Now show me one position on the roster where we are worse off than last year. I don't think you can. Now show me which positions we're BETTER at than last year. I can name a few. And there is also the possibility that several more positions (i.e. the OL) that will be much improved.

Combine that with the good schedule we drew and it's reason for optimism. But I just think you're off your rocker if you think 7-9 is in the cards. That would be our worst record since 1988. And it would be only our third losing season in 35 years.

That's what I was gonna say. :D

Your specific points didn't seem particularly realistic.

Feeley will only start if he is better than JF. JF's worst record has been 10-6. This is despite injury, horrible backup QB play and difficult schedules.

The OL play was horrible last year. This year the left side is clearly better. Smith is the same player he was last year except he's a little bigger, stronger and has more experience. JJ is far better than any OL we had last year. IMO Mckinney outplayed Ruddy last season and should have been the starter. The other two positions on the right side of the OL will probably struggle to start the season. There is lots of talent there, especially as run blockers, but it will take time to develop.

Your strength of schedule point was already discredited, so there is no need to address it again.

How about we stop responding to the moronic rantings of idiots. I do not specify a poster in the post, because there are several in this thread that could heed this advice. If the shoe fits, wake up and smell the handwriting on the wall.

Bumrush, you could not be anymore wrong. Look at the "big name" guys we got the last two years,

RB Ricky Williams
LB Junior Seau

and now

WR David Boston

We have improved our team without a shadow of a doubt. For you to predict 7-9 and that the "shyt hits the fan" is just a bad case of Buffaloitis, you know, the disease in which you think we will suck but won't. Reality Check time for you BumRush, don't make predictions when the roster isn't even set in stone because June 1st Cuts are still around the corner.

P.S. This is what I was doing while I read your entire post

We are going 7-9 next year, time to face reality. This offseason has been a disaster, starting with trading a 2 round pick for a 3rd string quarterback. The David Boston trade seems like a good one, but our recent history and not so recent history (shula 95) indicates that bringing in "high" (discarded) quality players often backfires on the Phins. On top that we get bluffed in to trading another valuable draft pick simply to move up one measly draft pick.

Our strength of schedule next year is the hardest in the entire NFL. We have consective road game out west at the end of the season. We all remember how the Phins in 2003 fared against teams with winning records.

Our weakest link in the offensive line last year is now our most experienced "veteran: :) Ricky Williams, our All Pro running back, had it real difficult last year. Hopefully our line will block better this year, or Ricky may have to resort to some nice marijuana smoking that will effectively suspend him for the rest of the season.

So lets add it all up. This is a team that has bungled the draft and bungled their picks. They always overpay. Wanny gives away draft picks like the Marlins were giving away tickets when they lost 100 games. We trade 2nd round picks for 3rd string qb's with no proven track record while our archrival, swimming in an endless amount of draft picks trades a 3rd rounder for running back that has the potential to run for over 1500 yards. Heck he did it playing for the worst team in the nfl. WE have handled FA and the draft in a laughable manner.

The Dolphins 2004 edition:
3rd string quaterback with no experience and under a microscope in Miami that has ZERO tolerance for poor qb play. We booed fiedler out of Miami, so this kid better hope he performs at a higher level and winning pct.

Brand new offensive line, dominated by rookies and 2nd year players with little to no experience. Picked up in FA an injured OL and one that ended Kurt Warners career.

We have the most difficult schedule in the NFL. We have a new offense, an offensive co-ordinator that has already quit, David Boston acting like the ***** that he is, and a lame duck coaching staff that feels they are "made" like Mafia hitmen cause they seem untouchable.

In conclusion, I hope the Phins have a great year :) However, after many years of watching football, I am starting to see what a total collaspe is all about. THE FANS OF CHICAGO warned us from the beginning but nobody wanted to believe it. Wanny inherited a great team from JJ, a team stacked with all pro defensive players and the solid foundations of success. This franchise has been in steady decline, and this year, I predict, the **** hits the fan.

Somebody need to put the crack pipe down. !! Wow you are way off..7-9?? Are you crazy ? My Miami Dolphins 7-9? I can't even imagine that. Plus, we haven't even played a game yet. How about you just go in run the franchise then. 12-4 Or better..

I think people are being too hard on Bumrush. Dude has got a right to his opinion. I don't agree with it, but I don't think people should attack the guy for his opinions. Personally, I like the Boston trade. A lot. We gave up minimal in return and the last "troubled" player we brought in won the rushing title his first year with us.

Feeley is a gamble, however, one good thing is this. We have Fiedler behind him. I don't want Fiedler starting really, but we do know what we get with him, and what we can work with. If Feeley excels, this team can soar. If Fiedler comes in, they are still solid.

What is funny is that over at billszone, they have a post dedicted to Bumrush's post. They posted it verbatim and are all praising him to high heaven. Quite funny actually.

to say that st.clair ruined kurt warners career is just bull, get a clue man :yell:

I'm convinced that posts like this are either made by Bill's fans looking to have a good laugh (notice that CW was the first to reply...conincidence?) or Fin fans looking to stir things up. I don't think there is any chance that the poster of the message actually believes what they wrote. You don't completely condemn your favorite team and then "hope" you're wrong.

IMO, this kind of post should be ignored. My guess is that if there were 0 replies in response the posters would go away. Attempting to convince them that they are wrong is pointless.

I would like to see a separate forum for this type of post. They should be moved there and the people who believe the nonsense and Bill's fans can have a party. listed.
Clueless.
