Brandon Marshall on Revis Island

I heard Revis was soooooo good that their going to cut the rest of the secondary and just have him free roam the field all by himself.

If you don't think that its going to be a matchup that goes back and forth you are living in a gang green bubble
congrats there is 1 play against revis. you guys talk so much **** about ted ginn i cant believe nobody will admit that was the biggest fluke ever. congrats on the 7-9 season.

That's exactly what I said in a previous post somewhere else. That I don't care if Marshall has 1 or 2 receptions. As long as the Dolphins win and the other receivers were able to do what they wanted too.

My question then was would the Jets fans still come here and claim that Reevis shut down Marshall? It's sad but I feel that they would.

What Jets fans don't seem to realize or acknowledge is that the additional of Marshall opens it up for the other receivers. What I want to know if what do the Jets think of their other cb's versus the Dolphin's wrs? I hope they don't claim the baby making machine (antonio Crom) is going to come in and do well immediatley, they haven't even seen him play in this scheme yet. I'ver heard them claim he will do well because of it but if they are truthful with themselves they will realize that as we stand right now their D is going to have their hands full with the other Dolphins wrs.

You mean the world class receivers that only had 15 touchdown receptions last year? The Jets receivers only had 12 receiving touchdowns by comparison but that was because of terrible quarterback play (at times). If Dolphin fans are going to stick with the statement that Henne is better than Sanchez...then bad QB play can't be the reason you guys had only 15 receiving touchdowns. So what is the reason?

Also...the bolded part of the quote. Who exactly is going to be the threat if Revis & Marshall cancel each other out? The two teams who've passed all over the Jets #1 ranked Pass defense (Over 300 yards) have hall of fame quarterbacks and were able to exploit 2nd and 3rd string CB's. Will Henne be able to do the same?

That's right Pretty Tony! You tell 'em!

i think moss had a 2yd td against him as well but i'm pretty sure nobody could have stopped it. still, he gave up 2 tds all season long. that is horrible, the jets should probably start looking for a replacement...

We had no real threat at #1 WR and no real pass catching TE. So our recieving corp on the field was a handfull of 2nd options and a Punt/Kick return specialist. Nobody was scared of our passing attack but that wasn't b/c of bad QB play. All teams #1 CB's were covering our #2 pretending to be #1 reciever.

Sanchez had much better options as receivers and tight end, the best line in the NFL, an established running game, and still managed to throw more interceptions and less touchdowns.

And about the Tedd Ginn thing, if a fluke play like that could happen with a bust of a receiver, what the hell makes you think that its not going to happen with one of the Elite recievers in his prime? Open your eyes guys, the NFL is more than just the Jets

Sarcasm at its finest.

I personally don't care who wins the matchup, as long as we win the game. I'm also a bit perplexed why Jets fans spend so much time here. I've never been to another teams fan site. I just don't see the rationale behind it.

Moss is over the hill and on the way backside of his career and he's thinking about retiring after this year. He's not exactly in his prime anymore.

I just wish you guys would admit that this is a match thats gonna go back and forth. Give credit where credit is due

this is what ive ben thinking the whole time. who cares if reevis shuts marshall down? if we win then mission acomplished. as far as the jets fans thing goes i never understood that either. you would think as much as their is to do in ny they wouldnt have time to be on our board all the damn time.

Some of them are like herpes, you don't want em' and when you think you have them gone and undercontrol, they come right back

Sanchez had better options but he missed Edwards for 5 of his 15 games, Cotch was out a game and playing badly hurt for multiple weeks and he was a ROOKIE.

Considering he completely shut down the elite WRs in their primes that he faced I'd say the odds are pretty slim.

wait wait you said the jets have the best oline, and running attack? And your saying its the Jets?

Damn I coulda sworn everywhere else on this board the Phins have that.

The Tedd Ginn thing.. Schaub to Andre never worked. Brees to Coltson never worked. Manning to Wayne never worked. Rivers to Jackson never worked. Brady to Moss never worked etc etc etc.

Why would Henne to Marshall ever work? It could, but I pretty much just shot down your question.

If only Revis could be the whole team....you might not have lost the games to the Saints, the Colts starters and Brady after he got his other wheel back together.

Do you make excuses for everything Jets?

Sanchez SUCKED during the regular season. How hard is that to say?

"Cotch was out a game, he only Edwards for this many games blah blah"

Guy sucked. You can be a diehard Jets fan and admit that. Guy threw like 4 picks against BUFFALO at home. That was DREADFUL.

Schottenheimer slowed the game down for him at the tailend of the season, Shone Greene emerged as a running option, and Sanchez wasn't asked to do as much, thus had some productive games in the process. But for the vast majority of the season, he was flat out LOSING games for the Jets. Just admit, bro.

And enough talk about Darelle Revis. I swear the way ya'll cats talk about him, you would think he's going single handedly shut down, and beat the Dolphins

We only have one sample of a Revis/Marshall matchup. Marshall have 5 catches for 55 yards, and his team DOMINATED 34-17. I'll take that ANYDAY.
