Bucs and Fins game comes down to one thing

Yes, but what I look forward too has zero effect on any game or team! It doesn't mean I'm uninformed about anything. All we do on this board is speculate. What difference does it make if I speculate about the next game or next year. Yes, the Bills game is a 100 times more important, in the NFL evey game is important. The point is, if I look to a distant future game or the next one, it means squat when it comes to how the team plays, and what I know about the team.

I didn't say anything about affecting the team did I? Did I say we have some super power to influence games? I just think its silly to predict how a game is going to go when the team won't even be the same come that time. Hell, talk about the first game of 2043 for all I care, but you won't know what you are talking about because you will be completely uninformed about the team at that point. The same goes for the Tampa game. What if, God forbid, someone gets hurt during the Bills game? How does your "speculation" (guesses) take possibilities like that into account? This is how we (not just you) are uninformed. Thankfully our players and coaches are not so forward looking (at least I hope not).

It is funny that I have seen more threads on the tampa game than the buffalo game when they are not even remotely close in terms of importance? Is this because its a cross state matchup?

Well take it further using your logic and put individual threads up for every single game we have left this year...heck lets discuss strats for all of them...and why stop there, lets make a thread for our own projections of who will make the playoffs and who our potential opponents there will be.
We can also throw a thread up projecting next year's schedule and start individual threads on strategies against those 2006 opponents too...

:rolleyes2

Not to mention we've already had a week to discuss the Buffablow Jills game.

And have spent it discussing a less important game 2-3 weeks away. If we lose to buffalo, I guarantee these predictions will suddenly swap scores as the sky begins to fall. Lets hope that doesn't happen.

I agree......I was at the Giants/Saints game a couple weeks ago and my buddy wore a Eagles jersey.....jsut to get a rise out of people....and of course it worked. They were giving him hell........

but this one old guy kept yelling at the other Giant fans who were razzing him to "worry about the Saints!! We're not playing the Eagles, we need to worry about the Saints!!"

Why? If we as fans don't concentrate on the opponent it's going to negatively affect the team??

All that said, I do find it ODD that there are several Tampa Bay threads on the front page when we are playing a divisional rival before that game. I guess down in FL the Dolphins/Bucs rivalary is pretty big.....but more compelling than Miami/Buffalo????

Its not about being uninformed, its about being excited, which is a welcome revelation considering the past. Besides have you ever posted a prediction of wins for the season, before the season started?

You're right there's never any threads that predict any of those things you mentioned! :shakeno: Seriously, man, you never predicted our record, before the season, voted on who our starting QB should be? All I'm saying is to jump some fan cause they're looking ahead is a bit ridiculous, that's all.

i agree. its no big deal. how much can we talk about 1 game? i dont see no problem with jumpin a week ahead. not jumping a few weeks ahead would be dumb, because we dont know what might be going on in a few weeks.

During the offseason when its boring, sure.
But when we have a HUGE game coming up, I'd prefer to discuss it rather than looking past it to a meaningless game.

I am a DIehard fins fan, but being form Tampa I like the bucs too. OF course i want the fins to win but this is my take on the keys to winning the game:

This game will come down to who can stop the pass better. Both of these defenses are sick on stopping the run and I see neither team running for over 100 yards. The key for the fins will be too beat tampa bays man coverage. Ronde Barber and Juran Bolden are great at playing man coverage, but if Miami is able to break the man coverage Juran Bolden, Ronde BArber, and Tampa BAy will be in serious trouble, because they both cannot play zone coverage to save their lives. IF Miami's Defense gets pressure on GRiese it will be a long game for him as he gets flustered under pressure.

FINAL SCORE: FINS 27 BUCS17

Disagree, the Bucs have not impressed me at all, the combined records of their opponents is like 3-11, Detroit should have beaten them yesterday.

The Dolphins have played playoff caliber teams, the Bucs have not.

But I agree with the "lets deal with Bufalo first" crowd, there is pleny of time to discuss Tampa.

Nope.

There's nothing wrong with getting excited. There's also nothing technically wrong with getting ahead of yourself. I want to win the TB game too, I just don't care about it because it doesn't affect the Phins even remotely near what the bills game does. People are overlooking a game that will have a direct impact on the game after it.

On the prediction note, I will throw out one that is just as informed as any other:
Phins 16-0 in 2095!

i agree they havent played great teams, but their defense has been extremely dominate. i think theyve only given up 2 TDs this year. and both was to GB on long passes, one on 4th down. they got a good pass rush, and good run stopping front four. and fast LBs that get to the ball carrier. they got good Cover CBs in Kelly and Barber, and they both Tackle well to. their a good team, make no mistake about it.

Um by my calculations we go 15-1 in 2095...our team looked ahead to the Tampa game and lose to the Bills by 7. ;)

A good defense stopping who? A 1-2 Detroit team, a 0-3 Green Bay team? a 1-3 Minnesota team? a 1-3 Buffalo team?

Stopping any of these teams is NOT impressive, make no mistake about it, their impressive defensive ranking is largely due to the bottom of the league ist quarter schedule they have faced, I fully expect Miami to handle them fairly easily.

ok, we played a 1-2 who scored 24 points on us.

a 1-3 whose only win is agaisnt us.

and a 3-1 that we totally dominated.

come on now. you play who is on your schedule. they have beaten more AFC East teams then we have so far this year.
