We're definately due to beat Houston these crazy streaks dont last forever.
No, but they can last quite a long time. The Packers didn't beat Miami for the first time until 1997; the Cardinals didn't get their first win against Miami until 2004. Not saying Miami will lose again, but after a while a streak can take on a life of its own.

We still haven't beat Philly though we rarely play them.

We had a similar problem w/ an expansion team w/ the Seahawks. They came into the league in '76, from '77-'03 we played them 7 times and lost all 7 which includes losing twice to them in 1981. In '81 we had a 10-2-1 run to end that season, both losses were to Seattle. We first beat them in '85 and went ona run of beating them 8 of the next 9 games.

I remember the 2003 team getting absolutely excoriated for losing to the Texans in the opener that season. Little did anyone know what was to come...

True but we seem to play them every year, I was beginning to think they were in our division!

It seems like kris brown always hit a ridiculkous 50+ yard field goal against us as well.

Anyways, I'm going with 4-2 or even 5-1 I get good crack where I live. No seriously, from everything I'm hearing our guys should start the season in great condition which is the complete opposite of last season. These high tempo practices, some of which in the Florida heat, are good for offensive and defensive conditioning. That coupled with a completely new offense with some new pieces nobody has seen yet tell me there is some potential for a fast start. I do think the lack of WR talent, unless somebody emerges, will rear it's ugly head when it counts though. I also realize the new offense factor could cause the exact opposite affect but have faith in Philbin that the guys will know what they are doing.

4-2 without a doubt

@ Houston - W (upset of the opening NFL)
Oakland - W
New York - w
@ Arizona - L
@ Cincinnati - L
St Louis - W

@ Houston - Win
Oakland - Loss
New York - Win
@ Arizona - Win
@ Cincinnati - Loss
St Louis - Win

For some reason the Texans always seem to beat us at the last second but some fluke play. We've never beaten them, but maybe we will in the opener? The schedule looks very favorable and I would be disappointed if we were worse than 4-2 by the bye. But I voted 5-1.

They have Fitz and now Floyd, that will make a QB look better. I think Ari is going to win that division.

It takes a generational talent to be a complete game changer at WR after a rookie year, let alone within the first 4 games of your career. AJ Green did it, Randy Moss did it, etc. Michael Floyd doesn't really have that type of talent (thus far) so I have to disagree.

I still think Arizona will be a good game. It's a huge toss up, however.

While Houston has had some important positions turnover on the roster, I feel that the core of what made Houston good last year is still mostly in-tact. Andre Johnson, Arian Foster, and Matt Schaub should all be there week one, as well as Brian Cushing, JJ Watt, Connor Barwin, and Jonathan Joseph.

And for whatever reason, the last 2 years opening at home the Texans have been pretty good.
