Duker started in the NFL with Cleveland when Weaver was there (don't believe he was there with McDaniel) and spent a year with the 9ers (again think he was there a year before McDaniel), was a defensive assistant with Weaver in Baltimore for 3 years before going to Detroit under Dan Campbell.
There's a glass half empty and glass half full way of looking at it. Half empty is Detroit had one of the worst secondaries in the league. Half full though isi that Detroit has a very young secondary filled with guys considered up and comers that saw their individual play develop alot under Duker.
Per Aaron Bills we tried to hire Chris Hewitt from the Ravens in that role but they gave him an additional job title
Very limited experience. Not that he should be judged on that alone. Hard to say, exactly, what his role would be.

I thought Renaldo Hill (former Dolphins DB) was an up-and-coming coach?
How does this hire affect Sam Madison? It appears Duker is being hired to take over the role Madison had under Fangio and Boyer.
Much like with players, for coaches it's a combo of chemistry and fit. Hill did indeed have a good reputation, doesn't mean he's a bad coach. Came for Fangio, Fangio left.
TBD he's actually taking the role that Renaldo Hill had. Madison was just CB coach
the coaching carousel in the NFL.......it happens every year where coaches go from one team to the other....most teams don’t bring back all of their coaches year after year.
