What about Jared Allen? I know his best days are behind him but he is someone who would immediately upgrade the position. Just throwing that out there.

Shelby spelled Wake on running downs. Jordan also plays the other DE position.

Was not Shelby playing very well?

If Shelby is beating him out for playing time and the start then you did not deserve to be taken third overall.
Jordan played a lot the game Wake got hurt and his play versus run was pretty damn brutal. The following week Shelby started over Jordan in Wake's place.
Hell Jordan was the third choice to start that game because they were going to start Odrick but went with Shelby.
