As soon as I read
WVdolphan, I realized you are completely biased on this topic. Let me reiterate that I have no problem drafting the kid as a project WR in the 5th or later. Hell, I wouldn't even be upset if he was taken in the 4th. But it would be as a WR, not a QB except in emergency situations and occasionally in the wildcat, in which he would no doubt be a bigger passing threat than Ronnie Brown. However, I'm more interested in him developing into a solid WR than a wildcat specialist. If thats all he becomes, it's a wasted pick IMO. Particularly if he can't learn to hold on to the ball, which is essential in the wildcat.
And lets say, for the sake of argument, that his arm strength is all you say it is. Who gives a **** how far he can throw it if he can't hit his mark? Vince Young turned out to have a better arm than some suspected. He too blew away college defenses that stacked the line. Now he's sitting behind a newly resigned Collins.
And how was stating that the UNC game was a career passing day (which it was) constitute knocking his performance in it? Certainly outdid his passing performance against Oklahoma (btw, WV's d in that game was on fire, and the
Owen Smith run was awesome). He and Slaton
ran all over that D.
Draft WR Pat White in the 4th!!! :hi5:
