Dolphins meet with Pat White

has anyone considered he could also return kickoffs as well? His value could be unbeleivable to us. geez, when all is said and done he may take 3 paychecks away and open up more spots to steal Bill Belichicks drafted cuts from his devil ***.

Bill said it himself, "We need more firepower on offense." We will draft White or Harvin for just that reason. I think White with the second second rounder if he is there.

nobody is going to draft white in 2nd round. i would be surprised if he was taken in hte 3rd. 4th round looks like a good spot for him.

You draft to acquire players that will help you WIN. Thats what White can do....help us win. By allowing us to be able to score more points he can help us win. Even if he plays just 5 plays per game, if he is good for one huge play a game(even if he dosent make the play himself, but creates the opportunity for someone else to make that play) then theoretically he could add 3-7 points per game to our offense. To me thats worth any draft pick.

And since you wanted to knock his game against UNC, suggesting those were career passing numbers in that game, how about the game against more or less the same Oklahoma team that went to the National Title game this year? All he did was torch that same defense the year before in the Fiesta Bowl. Did you see Tim Tebow light that defense up that way? I know I didnt.

No problem with you personally bro, but you seriously need to clean your loupe on this one. Pat White is a ****ing beast that can help this team win with the playmaking ability he brings.
As soon as I read WVdolphan, I realized you are completely biased on this topic. Let me reiterate that I have no problem drafting the kid as a project WR in the 5th or later. Hell, I wouldn't even be upset if he was taken in the 4th. But it would be as a WR, not a QB except in emergency situations and occasionally in the wildcat, in which he would no doubt be a bigger passing threat than Ronnie Brown. However, I'm more interested in him developing into a solid WR than a wildcat specialist. If thats all he becomes, it's a wasted pick IMO. Particularly if he can't learn to hold on to the ball, which is essential in the wildcat.

And lets say, for the sake of argument, that his arm strength is all you say it is. Who gives a **** how far he can throw it if he can't hit his mark? Vince Young turned out to have a better arm than some suspected. He too blew away college defenses that stacked the line. Now he's sitting behind a newly resigned Collins.

And how was stating that the UNC game was a career passing day (which it was) constitute knocking his performance in it? Certainly outdid his passing performance against Oklahoma (btw, WV's d in that game was on fire, and the Owen Smith run was awesome). He and Slaton ran all over that D.

Draft WR Pat White in the 4th!!! :hi5:

Who is Owen Smith? Again, just another sign you dont really know where you are here.

Of course I would want to develope him as a WR. That would be the long term goal. As for this season, he could put us over the top with what he can do in the Wildcat. Mix in some plays as a slot guy(a few quick screens here and there just to let him touch it) and there ya go.

As far as hitting his mark on his throws....well let me just tell you. He is quite accurate on throws down the middle, between the hashes......much like the QB we have right now, only White can get more on the throws.

In no way am I suggesting he could play QB in the league or as well as Pennington, just that he would be more than an adequate option to throw it out of the wildcat. The fact that he is similar to Pennington in the sense that they have success throwing it down the middle of the field, especially on longer throws, it fits what are receivers and TE's already work alot with.

He would be a cool project. but too many real needs to pick a project, excecially with how high he is slate to go (top 4 rounds). it wont happen, i am fairly sure.

Sorry, meant Schmitt. Was going from memory, and apparently I should have had the roster of a team I have no vested interest in (unlike yourself) memorized. Not all that shocking that I had to point that out to you to keep you from attempting to derail this into personal attacks, per usual with you. What kind of WV fan are you if you couldn't figure out who I was talking about? ;)

As far as accuracy, I guess we're just going to have to disagree on that point. From what I, and a majority of scouts, have seen, he is certainly lacking in that area. Even you stated he needs work in that area, now suddenly he is as good as Pennington and Henne? Can't say anything about Beck, seeing as how you need to hold onto the ball first before being able to show off your accuracy.

The Jets are gonna take him just so the Fins can't.
