Draft picks

I do...and I blame Tua for even being out there when the check was already printed and all he had to do was stay healthy and cash it. The best way to stay healthy this season was to refuse to get hit.
But would you want to spend a top draft pick on someone who refuses to take hits and only worries about getting paid? This is football. Can't blame Tua -- freak injuries happen.

We could’ve probably gotten Tua prior to his injury at 3. Bengals take Burrow at one and neither the Redskins nor the Giants would go QB at 2. So at 3 or heck even 4 we could’ve gotten Tua.

He hurts his hip and now has to sit out an entire year most likely and I’m still going to draft him at 3 or 4? No way.

Can we trade Grier for a GM who actually knows what he is doing come draft day? Because as long as Grier is making the picks, I just don’t feel confident this team is headed in the right direction.

If not mistaken the Dolphins hired Marvin Allen as the team’s assistant general manager, putting him in a position where he’ll be second in command of the scouting and personnel department.
Flores and throw in Reggie McKenzie and IMO there is a pretty solid looking group put together to advise and help make those critical decisions. But only time will tell........

IMO, I'd be greatly surprised if we picked Tua with our top pick.
Guy will need next year to put all his pieces back together, heal enough and the following year of actual playing in NFL game..... Looking at min. 2022-23 ...don't see that in this organization plans what so ever...

Burrows and Chase gone would think Andrew Thomas odds on favorite JMO

TUA Update>>>>>>>>>>>>
Heard a guest on the Greg Roberts show last night in Roanoke Va.
The ladies name was Laura (something) and covers the SEC.
Said she knows Tua and his family, and has even been a guest at their home in Hawaii for what it's worth.
Anyway, she said that three weeks after the surgery, doctors have been surprised at the mobility he has at this early stage.
Also said Tua and his family are still weighing the decision to enter the draft, or go back to school for another year.
Also mentioned that that are three NFL teams that would possibly take a shot at Tua despite the injury, but his stock has moved down to the bottom of the 1st, or top of the 2nd round.

If true, makes sense. Maybe not around pick #32, but not #3. All depends on medical reports next spring

Apparently those hires just get dismissed.

let’s get names of the GM’s and staff that people want hired and will come here. It’s probably the same as the QB list for when Ryan left...

Tua wasn’t physically right the week before even. He didn’t have the juice in his legs to evade like normal. Although guys that size get piled on/rolled over all the time by bigger dudes.

russell Wilson gets it too he just didn’t have his knee bent into the ground taxing his hip socket the same way when he was piled on.

McKenzie and Marv Allen were here for the last draft and while it's not fair to judge after one year, the 2019 draft has fewer 1st year contributors than most any other draft for quite some time. Very unspectacular draft so far, IMO.

Sure they did hit on some UDFA's and FA signings but they have to be better with the talent in the draft.

Frankly, Grier was better in the draft prior to those guys getting here.

OK, OK, I know this dead horse has been beaten too much. Grier does NOT make the picks. Yes, he's the guy with 'final say,' the guy who hands the card to the courier and the guy who can break a tie in the draft meetings.' BUT, he defers to experts as all GMs do. If Flo, McKenzie and all others in the room don't want Pat white, what do you think Grier will do? If Flo, McKenzie, and medical feel Tua will never heal properly, what do you think Grier will do? Grier, like executives in all industries, are no better than the information they're given. Trashing Grier for the quality of his staff is fair game. For individual picks, ummmm no.
That said, for now, I think a room with Flo and staff, McKenzie, and Caldwell could do quite well. Predicting individual draft choices depends on FA
If he is he guy with the ’FINAL SAY’ then he is the one making the picks. That is exactly what have the ‘FINAL SAY’ means. When all is say and done, it is Grier who will be held accountable for the players selected in the draft and not those working beneath him.

That is why Ireland was fired and not Grier, who was one of those individuals under Ireland who was giving Ireland advise on who should be drafted the entire time Ireland was the GM.
