Here’s a segment on Cowherd with Willie McGinest and they all agreed that Flaco slid late. More importantly a good point was brought up about Kiko that happened in the Falcons game

How many yards between them? At least four. That is the literal start of the slide. So you are going to try and tell me a player can't check himself at that distance? Dirty Hit.

How many times have you seen a QB pretend to get ready to slide and then run around the guy when they let off? Kiko was trying to stop the first down and Flacco was trying to sneak extra yards to make it and then fell right into Kiko's path. The penalty is understandable because they protect the QB based on the result rather than intent, but that hit was entirely on Flacco for forcing a confrontation right at the sticks.

How long do you think it takes for 2 professional athletes running towards each other at full speed to cover a 4 yard gap?!? Just throw an estimate out there ..give it your best guess.

My guess is about a third of a second

When Flacco started his slide, Alonso was still on his feet. He then proceeded to launch himself at flacco when he knew the slide started. It was a dirty late hit. Period.

Try to convince yourself otherwise, but it won't make it so.
