I'm very happy and unsurprised by this move. Hayes proved our best run stuffing DE with some good pass rushing ability. He allows Wake to become a pass rush specialist that he should be at this point of his career. As a player, when Hayes got injured and went out of the lineup, we noticeably suffered. Hayes, was nothing but positive and productive, with the only negative being the injury. I'm very happy to have him back.
Also, he has been a long time very good friend of Quinn, and I'm absolutely sure he was a main reason why Quinn came here. In fact, in one of his medical procedures, Hayes drove him home from the hospital. He has always been good friends with Quinn and I'm sure helped recruit him. When we made the trade for Quinn (at a noticeably lower price than expected) I was certain that meant we were bringing Hayes back. And, I'm quite happy we did. Now our DE's are good.
