Hoops scoops...reading the tea leaves day 1 draft predictions...

i stand by i think it's all about lane johnson...miami is sniffing the 2nd round corners pretty hard...trying to trade up for lane johnson no doubt in my mind...question is will he even get to pick #6 and cleveland the likely trade out partner...i have my doubts...some talk that miami can get to #6 for pick #12 and #77...seems low to me but maybe cleveland would take the bait...still leave us with two 2nd rounders and ammo to move up in round 2 or even late round 1 if we want to...and would make me feel a lot better about left tackle going forward than any menelik watson in a trade up from round 2 stuff...

star lotuleilei to philly to play 34 de opposite fletcher cox...tested a lot like haloti ngata and brought in to play just like ngata in baltimore 34 de in phillys d...

jax is either dion jordan or eric fisher...i see it 60/40 fisher...

Funny thing is who says the Cards don't jump even the browns to get Lane Johnson? They need a LT worse than us and then the trading team doesn't have to drop that far. Even the Browns themselves could net an extra 4th and drop one spot.

noticed the news from the Herald's Barry Jackson that we brought in DJ Hayden/CB for a visit today. Would welcome him with our 2A after we take Eifert/Austin at 12...whats the consensus on the kid??

which is why i think if miami does want to trade up they are gonna have to sweeten the pot to win the sweepstakes...i'm sure the browns will have lines in everybodys water that has expressed interest in the ot's and dee milliner...

i would flat out love that pick...if he's medically cleared though i have a hard time seeing him on the board at #42...but if he was and medical was a go i would pounce...glad to hear miami has shown interest...just another of the corners we are sniffing that project in the top 2 rounds to come off...makes me think more and more that going up for milliner is a long shot...

I am so convinced it is not Lane Johnson as the trade up target.

The one thing that kind of stands out to me is I haven't heard about or seen much evidence of Miami being interested in edge pass rush prospects.

Corey Lemonier is visiting with the team today.

Which of the following would you prefer...

B. Albert for R. Starks and maybe a late pick
OR
L. Johnson for a 1st and 3rd round pick

xavier rhodes is a BORDERLINE 1st round pic.

he isnt scheme versitile, doesnt fit our scheme and isnt a ball hawk. ALL the things we need!!

MARCUS TRUFANT is LEAP YEARS better than rhodes and is everything rhodes isnt and EVERYTHING miami needs in a cb.

i just do not understand all this rhodes hype. especially him going to us at #12!! and they are thinking cb, it wont be rhodes, it will be trufant.

after milliner, there isnt a cb worth the #12 pic other than trufant and hayden. but, haydens almost 2 seasons removed from playing and coming off an achillies makes him to big a risk to go that high. but even with the injury, i would take a red flagged hayden over rhodes. with no injury, hayden absolutely would have been the 1st cb taken in this draft.

so, IF miami stays at #12, ........ .

if they are NOT going cb and cant trade up or down, CHANCE WARMACK will be the pic. [yeah, you dont take guards that hi, yayd-yada...] but warmack is another of those other worldly talents at his position and it was rumored that ireland and company were ga-ga over him at the senior bowl. same as they were with oderick, who also was rumored to be coveted by the finz at the senior bowl. and we know what happened there. ireland isnt the smoke screen genious he is being made out to be right now. hope he doesnt play poker!!

if staying at #12, it will be trufant, warmack or one of the pass rushing ends. it should be AUSTIN, but, i dont think ireland is forward thinking enough and he will probably be gone to the jets or bills before we pic.

but it WONT be rhodes [a good thing!].

ezekial ansah will fall out of the top 10...

Buffalo is known for not doing the predicted thing in the first round. GM Buddy Nix already said that they are not drafting a guard so strike off Warmack & Cooper. I also don't see them taking Geno as I believe Nassib is the #1 QB on their board & will get him by trading back into the tail end of round one. Of the remaining prospects projected to be available at #8 Zeke Ansah makes the most sense. Mario Williams is the only legitimate DE on the team & Mark Anderson is nothing more than a pass rush specialist.

considering i probably can't get the first for that price the latter...now if you say a 2nd and a late pick for albert or a 1st and a 3rd for johnson i may go johnson...i like his upside more and i like controlling him for the next 5 years at about half the rate albert is likely gonna command...

Warmack didn't accept his invitation to the Senior Bowl.
