Mark Ingram

Ireland admitted to never picking up the phone to even find out if we could work out deals.

Hooshoops: You were money. Nice work.

Do you really want to be the one to call then find out a team isn't interested? It looks desperate and needy. Everyone knew we wanted to trade down, and no one was interested.

desperate and needy??? more like due diligence...someone could have offered up a bounty to trade out...you don't know if you don't try...i hope at least that prior to the draft he let everyone know he might be willing to trade down if he didn't call people during the draft...

The Dolphins didn't have an opportunity to trade out of the No. 15 overall selection, according to Ireland. "The phones weren't ringing so we took the pick," Ireland said. "When the phone doesn't ring you kind of lose your leverage if you're calling around. 'Do you want this pick, do you want this pick.' That's not the way I do it. They have to want the pick before you can trade. And the phone wasn't ringing."

Way to make things happen, Ireland. ****ing idiot.

Mallett at 15 sounded great before the draft. Now, not so much. If NE didn't draft him, he probably would of fell out of the 3rd round as well. Obviously, teams knew more than we did to fall that far. Still would of much preferred him with our 2nd rounder though.
You think NE was the only team out there smart enough to see that plum ? Seriously ?
