I hate to see how the media cheers for the PATS

Please find me a SuperBowl team that did not have a string of luck on the way to winning the championship. It doesn't happen. All great teams need luck to go along with a solid team. It's just part of the formula. That is all that I am saying. Stop this "you make it hard to be a Dolphins fan" crap and stop pretending to be Mr. Mature well-rounded football fan. You have your opinions and I have mine and that's it. I'm sure we agree on a lot and disagree on other things.

Every team in football gets a little "luck" along the way, but not so much to the point of where it actually becomes a large reason they succeeded, which is what you implied.

Pal, settle down. You obviously don't know the history of PressCoverage.

I've argued with the guy before but I don't see anything to indicate that he "hates" the Miami Dolphins.

Really that pats are a good team that has alot of luck. When a fumble helps you go from 4th and 3 to 1st and goal its luck. But why do I hate the pats, uh let me count the ways.

1. Tom Brady's bitching: After chargers beat them and marty gives some props he throws a hissy fit. Then he goes into the disrespect thing again, oh please your team is probably the most *** kissed team in sports, maybe overshaddowed by colts this year, but they did kick your *****.

2. The damn dropkick. Funny yes, but honestly when that is what people remember about the game its goes to show that although the 2 coaches are friends the one wants the other too look like *** showing he beat a team screwing around.

3. They never play teams who know how to beat them. I could have a retarted monkey watch a pats game and they will learn how to beat em. However these great NFL coaches seem to be inept at doing it. Get a good pash rush going and tom brady is crap. Make them a running team and they are done. Tom brady cant handle pressure, not game pressure but pressure from a rush.

4. They keep going around the rules(tuck rule, cough, mauling recievers.) When the next year the NFL puts a rule in because of somthing you did it says yeah we let them get away with it but we see what was wrong. That is what happened. Phantom calls that people cant explain whenever the pats are played. And this gripe wasnt even mine it was from a non AFC-East fan that noticed it. Oh and for one that you cant deny or argue, when they brought out the snow sweeper and cleaned the part of the field where vinaterri had to kick a game winner. When the rule clearly states you can only use hands or feet to do it. But the pats used a machine then when they let is snow a little to cover it, yeah like that made a difference.

5. Did I mention tom brady doesnt shut up. But hey at least he shuts up at the line of scrimmage unlike that damn annoying peyton manning. Seriously what is he doing a puppet show, put your hands down and play football.

6. Mike Vrabel needs a haircut, honestly its not a gripe but an obervation, at least if he is gonna be shown so much on camera, dont be looking like a gay pornstar.

7. Teddi Bruchi, if I hear his name one more time Im gonna scream. Comeback player of the year my butt. He didnt do crap this year. He only came back from a stroke, that just shows he is stupid. Where as a guy like smith produced when he came back. Teddi just was a headline whore. Ooh he came back. SO WHAT!!!! Yes a stroke is big, but if you can be cleared for football so close after it, it must not have been big. Doesnt make you a saint like people are acting like he is.

8. Dillon is a quitter. He is a T.O. or vince carter. Doesnt try unless he is on a superbowl team. If the patriots ever go on a losing season streak he will become the biggest cancer they will see.

--But they are still a good team. They can play and know how to execute in the crunch time. That is why they are winning. That is why they can beat jax, or indy. And yes I knew they would beat jax everyone should have. I had NE, pitt, washington, and carolina winning this weekend. Giants overrated(9 home games now thats bush league), tampa (never trust simms in the playoffs), jax(honestly have they beat one good team this year to be 11-5 pats are better than them and if you picked jax sorry), and of course cincy(no D and lost last 3 games 1 to buffallo, if you cant beat the bils you aint beating the steelers.)

However I got Denver beating the pats next week. Cause denver and indy always meet and indy always beats denver. Howver if NE does win then I think steelers can beat em, and colts cannot.

"Dieon Branch is a top 5 wide out"

And, yet some people still don't think the media's got a boner over the Patriots?

It's posts like these that make me seriously want to reconsider ever posting on message boards.

Apparently, to be a Dolphins fan, you must hate all 31 other teams and make sure to always point out the negatives about each and every one of them. Any time a rival wins a game, it was due to "luck" and not quality team play, and giving flatteries to an opponent obviously means you are not a true fan.

Apparently you cannot be a fan of "football" and the Dolphins at the same time, since being a fan of the former means enjoying football played by teams other than the Miami Dolphins, which is a sin.

Well I'll tell you this. If being a true fan of the Dolphins means acting like a juvenile 11 year old child distorting factual data just because the team in question is a rival of yours, count me out too. PressCoverage was dead on the money in his post, and your response was simply kneejerk.

May I also remind everybody this is the "No Smack" forum. This should be in Depths of the Sea. I suggest it be moved there.

Wow, some of us really think we are better than everyone:shakeno:

Every dog has their day... People are scared of the pats because they are surounded by all the hype that the media can put upon them. All the media wants is a story to attract attention. For other teams its perfect records, or scumbag Widerecievers, or Endzone dances, or deaths of acoaches son. The media is a leach that sucks the blood of what they say is "News". With the pats the media says they are disrespected, forget that they are the most feared team in the league. When ever the pats play you know they will not half *** it(most of the time). Post season is no longer guaranteed for the blue collar boys. There is a new team in town and they are just itching for a fight. Win the freaking superbowl...so we can ram it down your throat next year! Next year the SB is in miami... You can bet that Nick is going to do everything he can do to get homefield advantage in the most important game of the season...

Sure he is, maybe for the pats.....:sidelol: ....a top 5 wide out would be more like S.Smith, T.Owens, R.Moss, M.Harrison or T.Holt......not Branch...

Deion Branch is the man. I wish he was a little taller though

Overshadowed by the Colts every year. Every year we get picked against by the "experts" in big games. Last year we had a winning streak going the second half of the season and week in and week out experts kept saying it would end because teams can't win that many in a row. I didn't hear that reason given ONCE while the Colts were beating teams this year. Don't discount what he says about being disrespected.

Oh please. If this is you're number 2 reason then you're really searching. You're mad about a flippin' dropkick??? Do you realize how silly that makes you sound? If anybody remembers that game 3 years from now for ANYTHING (much less the drop kick) I'll be suprised.

So I guess you and your "retarted monkey" are smarter than all the coaches huh? Please...teams have blitzed us in the past. We played the EAGLES and Steelers in the playoffs last year...two very blitz happy teams. Tom Brady picks blitzing defenses apart.

No, it means that the NFL doesn't like how you play and wants to see a different team ::coughColtscough:: win. This I think adds to the disrespect thing. As does everyone saying the team wins by "luck". For the thousandth time....the tuck rule was interpreted CORRECTLY.....and I've seen it called AGAINST us several times since the Raiders game.

Yes....you mentioned it.

He's usually under a helmet. Thanks for the observation though.....but I'm curious...how do you know what gay pornstars look like?

C'mon now. His return only coincided with our run defense going from near last to near first in the league. He came back from a stroke!!! How can you say it wasn't serious?!?!?! Is he a saint for it? No. however he sure is deserving of Comeback POY. And he's a headline whore? Yes....because he was trumpeting everywhere about it. Bruschi is a great football player and an even better person...this is just clear jealousy.

Yeah....because he wasn't breaking records and making Pro Bowls in Cincy. Come on man. He was a great player as a Bengal for years. He complained about it sure....call him out on being a whiner....but a quitter? Not even close.

What a nonsensical comment. So I suppose me criticizing somebody who quite ridiculously accuses another poster of pretending to be a Fins fan simply because he posts an objective, open-minded opinion on the Patriots means I'm "vain".

If that's your shallow definition of the word, I think you need to buy a real dictionary.

Robfins, really man, you are coming off as quite condescending. People are entitled to their opinion, just as you are. You ought to respect that.

I just want to say in advance that even if the Dolphins went 19-0 next year, I would not be pleased to see them on every second on Sportscenter or any other network for that matter.

The Media simply overexposes the good teams and sweeps the bad teams under the rug and hopes they never have to show any sort of highlight about them.

I would have liked to see how:

Mike Nolan is doing trying to turn the 49'ers around.
Jim Bates is making Green Bays defense better.
What it would take to make "bad team x" turn around.(e.g. Al Davis needs to hire a good coach and stop influencing decisions like he knows anything about football).

There are plenty of stories out there that would keep ratings besides constant coverage of the same 6 teams.

But seriously, it's been all Colts and Patriots this season. It's been all Colts and Patriots the last 3 years, too.

A lot of this anger is just from hearing the same old thing and it really disenchants the NFL for me at this point.

Exactly. But on the other hand I dont want to hear about crappy teams all the time either. A good balance of the two would be perfect. Talk about the patriots setting history, or the colts trying to be undefeated, but mention how the first year coaches are doing. Exspecially next year with 10 new coaches. Personally I think this year would have been nice to hear more about the bears and less about the colts. Pats coverage this year was bearable except for the damn dropkick.
