2014 will have some big name or key position free agents. They may play a major roll in this years FA. Here are the 2014 FA's.

Paul Soliai
2013: $4 million, 2014: Free Agent
Koa Misi
2013: $1 million 2014: Free Agent
Reshad Jones
2013: $580,075 2014: Free Agent
John Jerry
2013: $754,625 2014: Free Agent
Richie Incognito
2013: $4.8 million, 2014: Free Agent
Dan Carpenter
2013: $2.8 million, 2014: Free Agent
Davone Bess
2013: $3 million, 2014: Free Agent

Notables for 2015:

Kevin Burnett
Karlos Dansby
Jared Odrick
Mike Pouncey

Jones is the guy who I would like to see extended. Maybe during training camp or early in the season.

He has Pro Bowl potential and will keep getting better.

You can say goodbye to Incognito, Carpenter, and Jerry by 2014. Most likely you'll see their replacements in the upcoming draft.

While we're at it, who are our free agents in 2019? Lets not get ahead of ourselves.

Pouncey won't be a free agent in 2015 because they'll exercise his fifth-year option.

If anyone is interested, I keep a running list of the Dolphins' future free agents for all upcoming years at my blog here:

I'm actually all for replacing Carpenter now if he doesn't restructure. 2.8mil is to much for a PK who cost us at least 2 wins this season.

R. Jones is probably the only guy I'd extend before the season starts, if not, his price tag could go way higher if we wait.

The point was that these FA's will need paid and might influence this year. If we resign Starks to a $7 million contract can we afford to sign Soliai the following year. Also Jones will most likely get a big contract so maybe we let Clemons walk to save a million or two for Jones. 2014 is in a year, not looking to far ahead.

Very good points. As much of a fan as I am of Starks, I would suspect we'll let him walk and hopefully move Odrick to his more natural position of defensive tackle. I'd also strongly consider extending Soliai. Then you don't have to worry about that position for a while.

That's good but I bet he gets a contract before he is a FA.

I would assume he'll be extended either in 2014 or 2015 if he keeps playing like he has. But he won't be going anywhere in 2015 because they'll exercise his option before the deadline in 2014.

I agree. To be a good team you have to develop talent to replace guys that are injured, calling it a career, or asking for too much $.

only 3 must have guys there....Soliai, Pouncy and Jones

Ozzy rules!!
