That franchise is in much worse shape from top to bottom

They should be readying the moving boxes for a cross-country trip to Los Angeles

That would be great, CBS would pick up a good chunk of Florida to televise Dolphin games on!

    Get that stuff outta here!

This is the first domino to fall though...and so there's going to be pressure on Miami to do the same so they can get started finding their new coach.

If we lose to the Raiders to go 3-10 then don't be surprised if Sparano gets chopped.

Not concerned. There is probably going to be about ten openings this offseason. There will be a lot of first time coaches, some recycled coaches, and good opportunities for those who are sitting in the TV booth.

Del Rio is the anti-Tony...his actions signaled that he actually wanted out, including throwing his OC under the bus without taking any responsibility. Now he gets to sit on Jacksonville Beach for the rest of this season and all of next if he so desires while his bank account keeps registering "Ka-ching". Unless it relocates to LA, this is probably the least appealing franchise for HCs in demand. (If they do move, it's a whole other ball game however)

wow... then they're definitely going Hollywood. No one would buy a team with that many blackouts if they intended for it to stay put. Probably pisses Ziggy off who may have no stadium and certainly has no personal ties to The North Country.

According to Peter King the Jags were bought by Shahid Khan, the Pakistani-American auto parts baron who tried to buy the Rams last year

Man lighten up, it was a freaking joke. I don't Hate Moore or love Henne. To be honest, it is 6 for 1 half a dozen the other for being our back up next year. Moore is under contract, so it will prob be him. There is a difference between hating and not wanting him as a starter.

Were 11 months late. Sparano should have been fired the day after the Pats game, end of last season.

Wayne Weaver just said in his interview on the NFL Network that Khan has assured him that they will be keeping the team in Jacksonville...at least for the time being, but I could see the Jags relocating to LA where the team's value would increase, especially if they can get a stadium built in the LA area. It sounds like there was some talk about building a stadium downtown near the Staples Center. I used to handle the health insurance for the Weavers and Jaguars, and Mr. Weaver has always been a class act and it's not just about money with him.

If you really think having Sparano on the staff is holding Ross back from looking and contacting a new head coach you are delusional. No, Ross is not a "clown" or a "dufus" for looking elsewhere while his coach is still on the staff. This happens every year with every team about to make a change. You can bet any team contemplating a head coach change at the end of the season has some sort of list already and has put out feelers. Hell, there was talk Ross put out feelers to Cowher back in October.

Doesn't matter what is going on in Jacksonville right now, it will have no impact on the final result of who the Dolphins hire.

I'm not worried about Jax. Miami is far more appealing than that franchise. They play in a college area.

No rush to fire Sparano in order to pursue Cowher. After last night, I can't see Coughlin surviving in New York. Unless they sweep Dallas, they won't have a chance at the playoffs. So Cowher's dream job will most likely open up.

who the hell would buy jax and not try to relocate them? they're the least supported team in the NFL. they can't pay people to go to games - been like that for a while now. get them the hell out of here so i can see more dolphin games.

getting moved to LA would be the best thing that ever happened to the jaguar franchise.

He's saying that if we lose to the Raiders were not beating the Eagles. Thus we're 3-10.

I agree. But in reality, why the hell wait until next week. Is there something to gain I can't see? Get on with it and Ross can start talking and planning.

Agreed. Being a native south floridian living in Orlando, it ticks me off every yr that Phins games are blacked out here when it conflicts with a Jags road game. The fan base in Orlando is predominately Dolphins or Bucs. Very few Jags fans. However, several yrs ago Weaver petitioned the NFL to declare Orlando a secondary market for Jags games.
I can't wait for the day the Jags leave the state of Florida.

Yeah not a shocker. Only reason JDR wasn't fired 2 or 3 years ago was because Weaver couldn't afford it. Hell, he practically begged Del Rio to take the USC job so he didn't have to fire him. The selling of the team allowed them to fire the guy.

The only time Jacksonville's stadium gets filled is when Florida and Georgia play against each other every year in what used to be known as the "The World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party".

Sparano should have been fired long ago. Whoever the owner of the Jags is - made a smart move. You don't around to can guys. The suck for luck thing isn't going to happen. Get Tony the heck outta here.
