As far as Carey, we panicked on that one and gave up what we didn't have to give up, many here will argue that but its pretty clear Minnesota plays better poker than Rick does.

And what qurantee do you have that he would have been there at 20? Or is it just a huch? We know how those can go. We wait, NE moves up, take Carey and we sit there saying why didn't we do that? This one was a no win situation for Speilman as far as some fans, but I think we won and did the right thing.

Carey and Losman were both reaches only in the sense of what was given up to get them. Necessity creates bad situations when picking (especially in the 1st). Offensive linemen generally fare better than QB's overall as 1st round picks but QB's takenin the 1st are not as big a gamble as running backs or receivers. Losman cost way too much but the argument that next years draft has no QB's is true and so what do you do? Tough situation for both GM's in that they had to fill such dire needs this year. I will go with Carey but only just slightly because O-linemen are safer 1st round picks historically.
