Miami Dolphin player cuts to 53

With the Mcdonald suspension + the IR players (Mcmillan, Lippett) and PUP (Scott), you quickly goes to 82. 29 more to go!

They really liked Nick Williams, hell they extended him. Shows you just how impressive the two rookies have been.

Think Okoye is PS material.

And wow they cut Matt Darr? Damn.

Also when you look at how many of their first cuts are DT's, it's obvious that they are sure who they want from the group on their roster at DT. Kind of ironic considering how thin the position looked going into camp. When you consider how long it can take for a young DT to adapt to the NFL, I'm cautiously optimistic that we stumbled on some serious value with those two picks. Remember when everybody was talking about how thin the DT draft was, and how we should avoid drafting a DT altogether? I also find it interesting that one of the darlings of last years pre-season (Warmsley) couldn't get any snaps over any of these guys.

Thank you for your service, Matt Darr.

Very good punter.

He will find work quickly, I think.

Darr performed excellent to win the job initially but IMO he was not consistent. If I recall there were times we needed some big punts and they didnt happen. Maybe I'm being too hard on him but I think the consistency thing was the main reason for the change.

He was money a couple years ago but there were times last year he had a brain fart when punting.

Im glad he was cut, its a good sign.

The left footed rookie punter outplayed him, his net is wayyyy better than Darr. Its going to save the team some cash plus I am looking forward to seeing some PRs fumble from the reverse spin.

I saw a couple of clips of Haack putting that ball within the 5 yard line and rolling out of bounds.... I think we'll be ok.
100% correct. Special Teams Coach Darren Rizzi knew that Miami lucked out when we signed Matt Haack as an undrafted free agent and there would be competition for the Punter role. I thought Darr was decent and would not have considered replacing him, but I was wrong.
Interesting to note that 2 years ago Rizzi found Darr to replace Brandon Fields. He found a biomedical engineer in Andrew Franks at Rensselaer Polytechnic to replace Caleb Sturgis as Kicker and now Matt Haack to replace Matt Darr. Coach Rizzi only has a handful of Special Teams specialists but he seems to welcome competition from undrafted free agents for the roster spots. I expect that Haack will be an upgrade - he has a beautiful long punt. Thanks are also extended to Matt Darr on his service to the Dolphins over the past 2 seasons and good luck for the future.

#33 played like 4 snaps in the last game. We aren't missing anything

I'd still like to know what miamis 2 deep slot cb plan is.
I thought that was Verner
