MIAMI: Worst fans in AMERICA!!!

I live in Phoenix and the Cardinals possibly have the worst fans not the Dolphins. I go to several Dolphin games when they are in this region and there is always a good showing of loud fans. I went to a monday night game several years ago against the Pats(we lost 14-12) in Miami and late in the game when we had a chance to win and the majority of people around me were sitting in their seats being quite, i expected more out of the fans in Miami. Ill be in seattle and Denver this year. So dont say Miami has the worst fans. Because there are alot of us around the country that are big fans and always will be. Oh yea, in case you forgot I believe a team called the D-Backs Beat the yankees in the WS.

He's right...Dolphins have the worst fans in football.

I truly believe that there are plenty of real diehard finfans, but they are spread out all over the country...the majority of finfans in Miami could care less. Don't believe me?...go to a game, you could study for finals there.

It's "I couldn't care less...". If you "could care less", than you care. Get it? I've seen this misused so many times, I just had to say something.

The Dolphins rank among the top of the league in jersey sales. The Dolphins have a strong national fanbase, and you can tell when you look at the stands of a Dolphins away game. The Dolphins always have quite a few fans at every game. At the MNF game against the Chargers, it looked like there were more Dolphins fans than Chargers fans.

Hey how is everyone doing tonight? I have been trying to post a new thread ever since this new format was done and I just figured it out  I know I'm clueless. But on to the reason I am posting this very true thread. I am a die hard Miami Dolphin fan who resides in the world renowned, world famous, mecca of sports, NEW YORK CITY. And living in new york city us fans have been known to be very harsh on our teams (Knicks, Jets, Giants, Rangers and yes even the Yankee's). But I must say that you Miami fans are by far the worst!!!!! :roflmao:

What I have notice about you guys which is the sad part is that its a trickle down effect. It starts off up top with the media!! Yup, these Miami based sports journalists are some of the worst around. And then you guys read them, believe them, and comeback to sites like these and post all kind of nonsense. Too many times i have come to this site first to see what you guys are talking about only to read the exact same words on a article posted by a journalist. :shakeno:

Now some of you might be reading this and shaking your heads in denial :shakeno: which is understandable because that of course is the first reaction of a guilty person. But this conclusion I have come to was thought out long and hard, and it all started with the Miami Marlins. I'm am in no way a baseball fan but I do enjoy how the Yanks seem to pull it off every year, with last year of course being the exception. But coming here on the regular last year I came across some threads about the Marlins. I even read some articles about the Marlins and heard a few things on WQAM and the biggest thing last year was the poor attendance you fans had for your beloved team. There were talks of selling the team, and how bad they were, and me not knowing no better believed what I read. Then out of nowhere, HEY THE MARLINS MAKE THE PLAYOFFS  . I can remember the guys on WQAM saying "All we know is all you guys bashing this team before better not hope on the bandwaggon now." And guess what, you guys took heed, because even in the playoffs the Marlins attendance wasn't nothing to brag about, until the World Series.

After the Marlins won it all you bashers looked like bafoons and hid in your little corner until the coast was clear. But it wasn't you guys fault because like I said it all started with the media and you guys didnt know any better. I witnessed the samething with your Miami Heats. SAME EXACT THING. First it was "they suck, they suck, they suck" Now its a different story coming out of Miami.

Fortunately I like neither the Marlins or the Heat, but unfortunately for me, I do love my Miami Dolphins and because I do live in NY and have to read articles based in Miami I have to put up with constant nonsene, negative publicity, and quick judgements. It is very frustating but it is something I do put up with and deal with. Anyone who disagree's just look at what you guys have posted today and look at the articles posted by your Miami based journalist.

I am..

I am a die hard Miami Dolphin fan living in New York, but UPSTATE New York, where we have trees and grass instead of dead bodies outside our doors. All of us from NY aren;t all bad as him. hell, I have ONE team, Dolphins, thats it, amen, done....I have no idea what else to say...

Every teams fans have a cancerous subsection. But We never Boo'd Santa, and Never cheered when a WR was hit and lied motionless on the turf (M. Irvan), or threw batterie ladened snow balls at visiting coaches and players.

I actually go to phillly fairly often and the enthusiam that city has for their team whether good or bad, losing or winning is amazing!!!

I was just blown away when i first went there and every city bus i seen said go Sixers (during basketball season) or go eagles. Thats real team pride for team right there. (And the sixers suck) lol

It's just all that incessant whining that drives me nuts. That wouldn't be a bad thing necessarily but to be at the level that it has reached this early is amazing. Let's face it, none of us are FO experts and we don't know all the facts so maybe we should stop acting like we do (The "we" in that last sentence does not apply to everyone...obviously.).
I believe this may just be the way some folks try to prepare themselves for another late season fade mentally. Sort of a defense against a December heartbreak.

just to clarify....

This isn't a disney movie. When we root for the dolphins, that doesn't mean we hold hands, look up at the sky, and sing Kumbaya hoping for good Karma to swing the game in our direction.

This is football. You want enlightening magical moments, go watch Survivor. Football is a violent sport. The men are beasts, they like pain, their fast, hit hard, and want to shove mud in other peoples faces. They don't take **** from anyone, and thinkt hey always know what's right.

I am a fan of the miami dolphins, always have been, always will be. And I don't need ANYONE criticizing how I root for my team. Sorry to be an ***, but I don't think every decision Wayne makes is brilliant. I don't think Fiedler ****s out gold nuggets from his ***, and I sure as hell dont' think Wanny is full of untapped football briliance, only seen since Lombardi.

I'm a realist, I'll call it as I see it. I may not like Fiedler, and while I hope to god Feeley rules I'm not overly optimistic about him. If you are, that's your thing, I have strong feelings about what should be done by the FO, and call it how I see it. "we've solved the QB problem by brining in a 3rd string QB who SHOULD have been 2nd string"......do it if you want FO, but don't piss on my shoulder and tell me it's raining. I'll support our GUy feeley, and hope for the best. At worst I get to see his cute fiance close ups at home games.

In spite of all my differnece in opinion from the FO, i turn on my team and root for the dolphins adamently on Sunday (or monday, or thursday as the case may be). Ask anyone I know, and there's no mistake I'm a direhard dolphins fan, and root my heart out for the team.

Like I said, Jay doesn't **** gold nuggets, and Wanny isn't a genius. That doesn't mean I'm being pessemistic, it means i'm a realist. It doesn't change how I root for my team. But I sure as hell don't need some wishy washy, miracle wanting "fan" from New Yawrk telling me that I don't root well enough for the dolphins.

If anyone is greatly offended by my post............GOOD :roflmao: because then it means that it applies to you. Like someone once told me "If it dont apply let it fly" and that is the case here. I wasn't talking to YOU in paticular, I was talking to whoever is guilty of always posting negativity, name calling, team bashing etc. In no means am I telling anyone including YOU how to cheer on your team, but when non creditial, unmerited, regular civilian fans like you and I choose to plague a site devoted to the uplifting of a nation football team, I take it a little personal.

I think I speak for alot of people who believe that the negativity on this site has gone toooooo far, and that is putting it nicely. This is your team, cheer this team on through the good and the bad, thats a true fan. Placing a microscope on everything that goes wrong will not help any cause.

I think we all know wanny is not a genius and jay doesn't puke gold nuggets, none of that would be "realistic" as you said you were, but they are human beings who are part of a team we all supposedly love, so lets just act like it. :cooldude:

I was at the Sports Apparel Super Show back in January and ran into some Philly fans there right before their game with the Panthers and one of them said something that struck me. He said "In Philly we don't leave until the game is over even if we are behind by 20 points with 2 minutes left. Because no matter what we always believe in, and stand by our team".

ADMIN EDIT:Deleted due to content :tsk:

Part of being a die-hard dolfan or a die-hard fan of any team is having blind optimism. I am slowly getting a journalist mentality which is making me lose the homerism expectations and all, HOWEVER, can you blame people for being upset at all the negativity, many are expecting to see overwhelming homerism here at a fansite. But then again, if everyone was blindly optimistic, then there would be very little conversation.

Secondly, Miami is a great organization from a record standpoint (threw out my wanny slang  ), as in they have maybe had 2 losing seasons in the last few decades, therefore on a yearly basis, the expectations are so high, and many fans are spoiled. Look at the expectations for the other florida franchises that havent been around so long AND havent won very often. I'm a diehard HEAT and MARLINS fan and if the HEAT lose this series I will be proud of them and how they have done (2nd round playoffs, which is not enough for many fin fans), and as far as the marlins are concerned, if they lost to the Giants in the first round of the NLDS, i wouldve been proud as well with this overachieving team.

As far as support for teams down here, dolphins in particular, keep a few things in mind....

1) Miami is a melting pot of people from all over the country and from across the world, the city can be called Little Havana, the Newer New York, etc....point is there are a lot of different people, many of whom came down here for the sun, NOT to change their allegiance.

2) Someone needs to punch the people in charge of marketing in the gut at the Pro and at the American Airlines ARena....DONT PAINT THE SEATS BRIGHT, it looks like a lot more people are missing then there really is.

3) As far as fans leaving early....every team's fans do that, look at the Sacramento Kings the other night, where their fans left, Sacramento came back to force overtime and they missed it....theres a prime example....

4) While Miami is considered a top media market, it pales in comparison to NYC in population density. When plenty of people can get on a subway or walk to the games and all, it's a lot easier.

Theres more reasons, but im gonna go back to watching the HEAT, just exploded out of the gates in the 2nd half.... MIA 61 IND 56 GO HEAT!

First of all, Atlanta has the worst fans out of any city in the country. Their fans don't show up to anything.

Secondly, Miami fans aren't that bad. Marlins games can seat 60,000, and a lot of people showed up to every playoff game, not just the World Series. The Dolphins may have trouble selling out playoff games but they have sold out every regular season game the past few years.

In terms of fan behavior, New York fans rate among the worst. Yankee fans are horrible. Knick fans will boo anything. Jets fans almost always boo their draft pick. No New York teams have had any success recently (except for the stupid Yankees, who outspend every other team by 80 million dollars or something like that and still haven't won a title the past 3 years). I live in New York City unfortunately and the columnists here are terrible, a lot worse than those in Miami.

Teams in the NYC area may have better attendances than teams in Miami, but you have to consider a lot of things, such as population and the fact that tons of people in the Miami area aren't from there and don't care for the teams there.

Some fans are going to be postive and some are going to be negative. That is just how it is. You can't blame columnists for that. Some are satisfied with the roster and coaching staff, while some aren't. Bashing Miami fans and Dolphins fans is wrong. People have opinions, and this is a place to express them.

1st off what has any team from Atlanta done worthy of much praise? We are not talking about the Atlanta Falcons here we are talking about the great franchise of the Miami Dolphins ( lets stay focus here).

Secondly the attendance for Marlins games during the regular season was pitiful to put nicely. Showing your a true fan doesn't start during the playoffs.

Thirdly Yankee fans are tremendous, and why shouldn't they be? They are the most spoiled fans in baseball in the last decade. Thats like saying the bulls fans were awful when Jordan and Pippen were winning everything. And your attendance argument has no merit and is based on speculation, remember you live in NY how do you know where most of the fans in Miami are from? And I have been down in Miami on a few occasions and I dont care how many names you can call Miami I dont know too many places more diverse then NY. So that argument for fan attendence is pure speculation. Like someone already posted, Hurricane games be jumping! And the columnist here are among the best around the world, I read the paper alot and even when the Knicks were doing bad there was always a ounce of optimism, thats what being a New Yorker (not Yawker) is all about.

Lastly I am not bashing my beloved die hard fans. I love the devotion they have for this team. I dont appreciate the ones looking for attention so they post nonsense, we all know who they are. If this doesn't apply to you you can just ignore it but as we already know, the majority of you here are guilty of pathetic negative threads, and anyone who has been here atleast a week will admit to it.
