New Kiper Mock has Phins taking...

Mel Kiper by his admission takes O-lineman higher than ought to drafted. His reasoning is actually very sound. A LT can have long productive career at LG. LG can be converted into a C .
 
It's just a mock and will have no bearing on who we take. I highly doubt we go OT tho you just never know with our FO but I doubt it

Whenever considering Mel's "informed" picks, I almost always automatically think back to him going ballistic when the Fins had the audacity to pass on his flavor of the year, Brady Quinn. Since then, it's hard to take him seriously.

What I will give him credit for is pioneering the draft specialist movement. Unfortunately it's passed the creator bye IMO.
 
can we stop wasting 1st round picks on corn fed? it never works out for us. get play makers and coach up lower round linemen.
 
Letting Landry and James walk and then drafting an OT in round one and a WR in round two would be so Dolphins.

I don't see value of a LB like Edmunds as 11th pick in the draft. I don't see enough instincts or cover skills. He is definitely starter worthy but he isn't a star.

They will bank on the instincts catching up with the top shelf size and poa play for his age. Plus that kid can run and is very fluid for his size

I think in the right scheme he would validate it but it’s probably not ours

Kipers getting ahead of the josh Allen hype that is sure to come next week

The Edwards kid reminds me of a lengthy Hightower. Strong kid. I think Hightower was 6'3 250. I think the league has changed some and guys like that get exposed in pass game unless they can get to the passer.

I really believe Allen goes top 5.
I don't see Broncos passing on him-
Still think Browns take Darnold. Just hunch because GM is more old fashioned type.

That’s exactly what I said the comp was for edmunds. Donte Hightower although I think Edmunds is more fluid

I’m convinced allen goes top 6. They will bet on the upside and the I can fix him

Ceiling is too high prototype size redunkulous arm. Someone’s falling in love

They gonna like the taken snaps under center too and makes nfl caliber throws

I don’t see a lb worth a top 15 pick instincts wise. Feel for the position is different than instincts
 
Man there's a lot of ways we can go. I'm usually against trading down, but no one really sticks out to me at 11 that we couldn't grab from 16-22 while grabing some Day 2 and/or Day 3 picks.
 
I'm typically not a "trade down" guy, but if Derwin James, Minkah & Chubb are gone, if you ask me today- I'm trying hard to trade down 10 picks.
Here's my reasoning:
I'm not picking LT or QB and there is a definite drop off in Def talent.

I like Nelson but give me Hernandez or Wynn Rd 2 plus I get a 2nd Rd pick.

Maybe R Smith but maybe I take Edmunds 10 picks later and I draft Elliot to play FS with the extra 2nd Rd pick I acquired and use Edmunds and Raequon with TJ playing some Hybrid.

Josh Jackson, Ward, Payne at 21?
Maybe Nelson drops.
I think I can find 3 starters at say 21, 41 and 50.

He's a beast of a SAM. That's really what he is. Maybe he develops a pass rush move outside his bull-rush that I noticed in small sample size. I don't know if he has any bend. Maybe he doesn't know yet either. He's 19 as you mentioned.

You draft that as a pass rusher you are asking to be pinked as a gm
