Official 2008-09 Recruiting Thread

even though it seems like nobody cares, here's some updates

4* DE Montez Robinson committed to Auburn

4* RB Knile Davis commited to Arkansas

Texas Tech picked up a couple 3* recruits in LB Kerry Hyder and CB Yahshua Williams

4* DE Craig Roh committed to Michigan as expected

Colorado is looking to have another huge year recruiting as they look to have top in-state prospect 5* DE Nick Kasa locked up. The 6'7 DE is chosing between them in Florida (don't know when), but Dan Hawkins has pretty much put the state of Colorado on lockdown. Colorado also is in good position for the number 1 CB in the country Cliff Harris.

Not a bad pickup, we need help in the secondary in the worst way.

We need some more O-linemen now.

HAIL TO THE VICTORS BABY!!!!

ANY NEWS ON ANY LINEBACKER COMMITS TO BIG BLUE???

THEY'LL DEFINITELY NEED SOME ASAP!!!:woot:

We'll probably be a finalist for Jelani Jenkins, and many think that a couple of the safeties we've picked up (Isiah Bell and Mike Jones) will move to LB anyway.

oh and Michigan did pick up a 2010 commit in WR Ricardo Miller; a WR most experts consider the best JR. WR in the state of Florida. Miller was offered a scholarship over the phone last night and committed on the spot saying it was his dream his entire life to play for Michigan so he wasn't gonna waste time.

Marvin Robinson, a 2010 S from Florida and likely 5*, also has Michigan as his favorite, but it's too early to tell with him because he's in the heart of Gator country.

2010 WR Jeremy Jackson (son of Michigan RB coach Fred Jackson) committed to the Wolverines, much like future teammate Ricardo Miller, he will be a top 100 player, and some think he is a top 5. Future 5* safety Marvin Robinson is all but committed as well (very good start getting those 3 for 2010)

4* ATH Nyshier Oliver committed to Notre Dame and will probably be a safety.

Penn State picked up a couple big commits in 4* LB Glenn Carson and 3* ATH Devon Smith. Smith will be a WR and is the fastest player in the 2009 class with 4.34 speed.

PSU is also rumored to be getting Tennessee commit 4* WR Ja'Ron Stokes who is thinking about staying in state (Stokes is from Philly)

South Carolina got 4 star OG Johnny Farms

Nyshier? Shodverick?? Yashua???

Who the hell is naming these poor children....

5* LB Vontez Burfict decommitted from USC and is gonna sign with Arizona State. Of all the LBs, BUrfict is most likely to make a huge impact off the bat (Jenkins needs to get stronger, Teo is going on a 2 year Mormon mission), but the biggest question is whether or not Burfict will qualify. Today looks like it will be a tough day for the Trojans.

4* CB Michael Carter changed his commitment from West Virginia to Minnesota.

$* DT Pearlie Graves went from Michigan to Texas Tech (Probably a good move for him)

4* DE Sam Montgomery to LSU

4* WR Pat Patterson to Ole Miss. Very nice grab for Nutt

4* Safety Darren Myles to Tennessee.

Michigan might lose 4* DT DaQuinta Jones as well, but they're expected to finish the class strong later tonight.

Florida State just got a commitment from 5 star CB Greg Reid.

we have a very good class so far. long day left however.

finally getting a couple OL commits as well.

so far 3 ACC teams ranked in the top 10 in recruiting! :hi5:

Yeah, I'm liking our class right now. It would have been even better if we could have pulled off the upset and gotten Gary Brown (DT) to de-commit from UF, but overall we have signed alot of guys who will probably play right away.

The guy to watch is going to be Chris Thompson (RB), I'm telling you the kid is for real. If he hadn't been hurt his senior season, he would probably would have been in the Top 20 overall, he's that good. Also, stealing Aubrey Phillips from Tennessee was pretty big, considering we needed a little more depth on the OL.

We probably could have gotten a little more DL help, but I'll give our class a B- at this point.

I wish i could get into these late scrambles for 5* recruits but we(USF) already have the best recruiting class in the history of our school. Soon enough we'll be up there!

GO BULLS
