And so it begins

One of the top-rated underclassmen in the nation, wide receiver Leonard Manuel, said he will play for the Hurricanes.

247Sports rates Manuel, listed at 6-foot-4 and 200 pounds, as the sixth-best player in the 2020 class, the second-best wide receiver and the best overall prospect in the state. Manuel will be a sophomore at Ocala-Vanguard High, the same program that produced Hurricanes freshman quarterback N’Kosi Perry.

UM also has a 2020 commitment from athlete Avantae Williams, whom 247 rates 13th overall in that class. Miami’s 2019 class is rated fifth nationally and the 2018 group is rated fourth.

Mark Richt has found his fullback for 2018.

Atlanta-based Realus George, a three-star recruit who visited UM last weekend, announced his commitment Sunday. Rivals rates him as the No. 1 fullback in the nation.

George, listed at 6-2, 245, is a three-star prospect according to 247Sports and Rivals. He had offers to play tailback from Georgia Southern, Army, FAU, Virginia and others. He has played inside linebacker and defensive end.

They may have invented it. We perfected it :)
4 turnovers in 4 consecutive games. Outta sight.

IT"S GREAT TO BE A MIAMI HURRICANE

It was already perfected when Alabama scored 12 NOT'S last year.

There's never been a streak of defensive and special teams scores like Bama had starting with the playoff game vs. Michigan St. in 2015 and lasting until the LSU game in 2016.

Eleven straight games I believe.

I did not know that. Amazing. Nothing like great defensive football.
Our first defensive score of the year was the pick 6 by freshman Bandy. We got a ways to go to challenge that Bama streak but at least we are playing aggressive now unlike the Golden / D'Onofrio style which we all knew wasn't working. Still 4 turnovers in 4 straight games is a solid accomplishment and a sign Manny's schemes are working.

Good luck against Auburn. Should be a great Iron bowl this year.
We'll try to do our part and try and represent the ACC. Clemson is a tough hoe which I don't have to tell you . It will take another outstanding effort to win that one but just like last year when we played our best game of the year in the bowl vs W.V. our team gets better and better as the season goes on. Hope we saved the best for last.

Yep, and most of that was with Eddie Jackson out. You see what he did for the Bears a few weeks ago...first player in NFL history to score 2 defensive TD's over 75 yards in the same game.

Clemson is still a good team, but nowhere near the team we had to play twice.

For all the talk Vince Young receives for his legendary performance against USC in the Rose Bowl to win the national title, Deshaun Watson basically had the same performance twice against a better defense in the national championship game.

They're a few notches below what they were, especially offensively. But they can still beat anybody because the defense can keep them in every game.

Miami drew a lot of energy from our home town crowd which will not be there in Charlotte but our staff has done a good job of getting players ready and just like the Clemson D ours will keep us in most games so it should be a good one.

Yep, we know. The Canes opponents suck and Bamas opponents are the toughest. Yawn.
