OV to NYG

lol. I am just going to be happy that we have one less guy on the defense making drive extending stupid penalties.

For 17 million a year, no thank you. I live in Giants country and my friends are already texting me asking what I think of OV. I'm congratulating them on signing the most overrated FA.

Now who wants to bitch about Tannenbaum passing on OV. That's more than JJ Watt got

I liked OV, but oh my gosh!

He will never live up to that contract.

Like OV or not. LOVE him or not...

.. what on EARTH are the Giants thinking?

And let me just throw this in:

Good for Olivier Vernon.

What an incredible deal, what a tremendous boon that is to a guy who wasn't thought to be a star when he came out of college and had a slow start. He's done well for himself and NO ONE here should fault him for leaving town. There's no way we could have matched this deal and he would have to be a colossal idiot to turn it down.

Wow.

THIS is why you don't take a "hometown discount".

Smart for him to refuse a deal with Miami, smart for Miami to let him walk.

Some divorces are amicable. I ain't even mad.

I like OV and wish the Dolphins could have kept him, but not at 17 mil/ year.

I would have resigned Miller at 6.5 mil/year. Would rather have Miller at that price than a guy like Maxwell and what he will be getting paid. The Dolphins still need at least one OG, DE (Wake is at best a pass rush specialist), RB (Can't rely on Ajayi alone), MLB (wouldn't count on Kiko staying healthy), OLB (Can't count on Misi or Jenkins), FS (Don't know much about the guy they just signed), CB (Maxwell is at best an overpaid #2 with a bum shoulder), OT (Albert and James both have injury concerns and you need a solid backup), DT (Mitchell stinks, wouldn't count on CJ Mosely & Phillips still has much to prove). Lots of holes still to fill. Have 7 draft picks and a little money to spend in free agency. Lets see what happens.

Oh my gosh, TBum is the worst. I can't believe we didn't keep OV for $17M/yr.

And I'll take the 3rd round comp pick...

This kid just got paid. He'll be using all that money he stole from the Giants for all those illegal hits and by rewarding them with game changing penalties.

$17M/yr, $52.5M guaranteed.

Vernon, still on his poor-ass rookie contract, would have signed an extension for around $10-12M a year or so ago. This is what happens when you let the market and teams with lots of cap space set your player values for you.

Moronic on the part of the Dolphins' FO.

Paying Vernon 10-12 mil LAST YEAR would have been more moronic than what the Giants just did. He showed nothing to deserve that money at that point in time.
