Can't get this image out of my head every time I see this thread.

Good ol' Tex.

While grant is more explosive in space, playing slot wr in nfl you don’t get space, it’s contested catch and instant contact in the vast majority of cases. I like grant as a reciever on the boundary and a trick play, but just don’t see him surpassing the physicality that juice brings to the slot wr role, let alone matching it.

Landry is clutch, without him who are you throwing to on 4th and 8 to keep a game winning drive alive?

2 catches...1 for 10 yards and one for negative 1 yards

So we had 3 game winning 4th qt drives last season and
Landry produced 3 receptions for 15 yards and 1 td

Hardly what I call plays that "kept game winning drives alive"
I'm sure we could find someone to replace those
stats

Ajayi was with us during those 3 games
and after he left we had ZERO 4th qtr game winning drives...Not sure there's a correlation

Why don't we see if Grant can handle 60 passes first before we even consider giving him 160

I don't believe we are a dangerous team if we have to settle for throwing 160 passes to a slot receiver so there's that...

Grant can be extremely dangerous and force teams to respect his quickness and speed....that potentially allows our offense, as a whole, to confuse and attack

If we continue to rely on a slot receiver to be our go to guy then we will not EVER be a real contender...Grant has the potential to be a threat where ever he lines up and needs to be utilized in our offense in multiple ways

IMO

Lmao he said can be better then Juice... Best I heard yet

Green Bay is sharp with receivers. I wouldn't count on that team making a mistake. If they let Cobb go I'd say he's mostly done.

Allen Hurns is worth that contract. He has some of the same clever gap finding traits as Landry. Jacksonville is not a true comparison in terms of catch numbers and productivity because Bortles was horrendous in 2016, then in 2017 with Fournette the Jaguars shifted to lowest percentage of pass plays in the league, compared to the Dolphins with the highest percentage.

If I want a guy to throw 100 passes to at or behind the line of scrimmage, Jakeem Grant can probably do that for me and he's a lot more explosive if he actually gets a chance to take it upfield.

Added benefit: we already have him under contract.

Added benefit: he's dirt cheap.

Added benefit: he has two years in the offense already.
Which all means that we get 2 more years from him before our clueless FO lets him walk

He's a talented player, yes. But no, he is not better than Landry.

Landry is arguably the best slot in the game for a myriad of reasons. Ugh, just do 1 thing right Miami and re-sign our best ****ing player!
