Lets be real. He's missed tackles, he's been a liability in coverage, and he isn't making the plays he made last year. We gave him the money and he let us down.

I supported the re-signing of him. He got his money and got fat mentally. He misses Dansby and Burnett too.

Wow, is he playing hurt? How else could a guy fall that far in 1 year?

He wasn't that good to begin with people seem to forget his play up to his big year. His history looks a lot more like how he's playing now than that 1 big year.

I wanted them to wait and let him prove it one more time, however when they extended him, I understand the rationale trying to lock him up before the dollars increased further. Looks like it was a miscalculation unfortunately.

He's never been as good as many here have believed. I thought he was only mediocre last year and awful every other year he's been with us. Too many people wanted to praise Ireland for finding a late round star but in reality we gave a big contract to a late round talent. It's lazy on Ireland's part. Just like our awful new linebackers. I'm still convinced he used YouTube highlight videos to evaluate Wheeler and Ellerbee

looks like he was a bigger benefactor of the 2 deep heavy scheme we ran last year than chris clemons was...odd thing is chris clemons is rated much higher but will likely still play under a 1 year contract next year as well

scheme plays into this as well...troy polamalu isn't as exposed in coverage cause the steelers play him basically as an extra lb at or near the los the majority of the time...that means more pressure on your corners and the other safety for example...even though pff doesn't account for it

donte whitner is another guy who they scheme to hide in coverage...he's a guy that yearly in the postseason gets torched when teams can get to him in coverage

ed reed even that high is a joke...

jarius byrd another guy who's overrated for how much they have to hide him

he's fine. watch him get a sack and pick tomorrow.

his role changed with the new lb's.

it is true about reshads role changing with the lb changes...more a pressure with the lbs scheme now but jones has missed more tackles in the box at or near the los this year than he did last year by a long shot...

anyways best safety range ball skills wise and instincts is earl thomas...that's a true playmaker at free safety
