Which Dolphin Players Have Trade Value This Offseason?

R. Jones has a 11.5 million cap hit next year.

If traded before June 1st, his dead cap for 18 is over 17 million.

We really can't move guys we recently re-signed unless you want a huge dead cap hit from them. Then you still need to go out and pay their replacement.

This season we had over 20 million in dead money.

I think the big factor with trading Jones is we JUST resigned him to what I consider to be a "retire a phin" deal. We did the same for Wake. Gave them a bit more than we needed to and threw an extra year onto the deal that will likely never be realized.

I'm not mad because we didn't pay either of these guys great money over the years and while Reshad wasn't as egregious as Wake, they both endured bad seasons like good soldiers in a losing war

The obvious, Suh, Thill, Landry, DVP, Stills, Jones.
Don't forget Wake. Any team that close to sb that needs a pass rush specialist.
And TJ Mc, if he performs the few games.

Wake has lost a step and would get a low round pick

Some of you guys are truly delusional. Lmao @ a 3rd for sorry ass Jordan Phillips, are you insane?

The only players that we can realistically receive a high pick for are Tannehill and Landry. That's it. And Landry won't really be a free agent because he will be tagged and once he's tagged, fairly good chance he is traded.

I would say at best Parker gets you a 3rd.

Now if we were to send a draft pick along with the player, then MAYBE we could get a better pick in return for a Pouncey or a Kiko or a Branch. But more than likely no teams want these contracts. Thanks Tannenbaum.

You can't trade a free agent. Unless you want to tag him first? And then, who is giving up a first on a like 15 mil or more deal for a slot wr? Albeit a damn good one.

We better resign Landry. Find a way in the money

It doesn't work that way. If Landry and his agent are OK with the team willing to trade for him, they simply negotiate a new long term deal before the trade is officially established.

An example would be: The 49ers are desperate for WR help so they express interest in Landry and are willing to give him his 11 mil a year deal loaded with guaranteed money. Dolphins trade him for two 3rd round picks as a tagged player, but the 49ers rescind the tag and the new deal begins.

Dolphins are elated to get the picks because they really didn't have the cap room to keep Landry on the payroll.

I agree that Tannehill has decent trade value. He is well thought of around the league, and it only takes one interested team. The shame is that the most desperate team for a veteran leader at QB is, of course, the Cleveland Browns.

The Browns have 5 picks in the first two rounds. Ya, FIVE, and two of them will likely be the 1st pick in the draft along with another top ten pick, then two early second rounders and another mid round 2nd. Totally freakin loaded for bear when it comes to ammunition to use for trades. If the Browns put someone capable in charge this off season they could virtually revolutionize their team.

I don't see the Browns giving up a top ten draft pick for just Tannehill. If the Dolphins added another Pro Bowl type player, maybe....or a high 2019 draft pick, but otherwise, I think two of those 2nd rounders might actually get a deal done.

Why wouldn't the Browns just use their top pick on a QB?? They have been trying that one for years........the results have been beyond bad. With this deal they could draft Sam Hubbard and Saquon Barkley and get their QB as well.

This Dolphin team is carrying a lingering stench of defeat. They really do need to make the hard decisions and accomplish rejuvenating CHANGE!

Now that Miami is stuck with Jones and McDonald, who don't compliment each other as much as overlap, I think the best way forward is acknowledging a need at FS, moving McDonald to WLB, and kicking Kiko to the curb. He just makes way too many mistakes. McDonald is a similar size to other Safeties who have made the switch - Bucannon, Barron, Reid. And, Miami needs improved play at the position. He's a very good player in the box - SS or WLB.

My top 2018 Safeties to compliment Jones:

DeShon Elliott Texas
Jordan Whitehead Pitt
Mike Edwards Kentucky

W-H-A-A-A-T???? You mean Miami ISN'T the only team bad at picking QBs? Next you'll be saying mire than one team can't find a HC. But I thought Ross and Tbaum were the only inept humans in the NFL

Ross and Tannenbaum aren't inept, they are complete football idiots. Neither one belongs in the NFL....period.

Must keep Laundry. Parker has value and I believe we could get a second round pick. If so, take it and get the top rated center in the second round all while cutting pouncey creating 7-8 million dollar toward '18 salary.
You think we'd get a second for Parker? That's an overevaluation if I've ever seen one. Dude probably isn't worth more than a 5th.

Reshad Jones would be the best bet, and maybe Parker if we can convince someone he just needs a fresh start. But it's not even worth getting rid of Parker unless you can get a 3rd bc he will have to be replaced. I wasn't a fan of the monster contract we gave Jones b/c I just don't think a SS has that much effect on winning games (we won a lot when he was hurt).
If we trade Jones it'd better be for a first, or Two Seconds. Dude is a baller.

I bet Landry will be gone in FA. I doubt he stays on this dumpster fire of a team.

I would try to trade Suh, Tannehill, Wake, Jones. None of those players will be around by the time we are contenders anyways. The team needs a complete rebuild. Try to stockpile picks and make better contract decisions.
Suhs contract is untradable, Jones maybe in same boat
