Who is The Fastest?

It depends over what distance you are talking about....I think Ted Ginn beats anyone in the NFL at 220 or 440 yards.

Ginn likely beats anyone at 50 yards plus.

When healthy, Ginn probably runs somewhere around a 4.28 40-yard dash. There's maybe a handful of players in the league that can match or beat that. However, after that 40-yard mark, Ginn begins to really pull away from the competition. Michael Bennett might be the only player in the league that could possibly hang with him or beat him.

Devin Hester earning a 100 speed is a testament to just how little ESPN knows and understands anything about football.

Or how little anyone else knows on this thread.

Hester ran a 4.27 in the 40 on 3/4/06 at Miami's Pro day. IMO anyone who runs back 7tds in his rookie year deserves that top rating.

Heres an official report on the fastest 40 yard times
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/40_yard_dash. The fasteste 40 time at the NFL combine in the electronically timed era was Rondell Menendez (4.24). Notice how all the other times listed were hand-timed thus deemed slightly unreliable. As of toadys NFl players I say its a toss up bw the new bread:
Hester and Ginn

Hester -4.27 (on grass)

Listen Ginn pro day times was not faster than Yamon Figures.

So get off of Ginn being the fastest.
DeAngelo Hall would even be faster than Ginn
you DO know he ran it on a bad foot, in the rain.....right?

Ted Ginn's profile on Wikipedia says that he was recruited to OSU in track because the coaches thought he could qualify for the Olympics..wow.

I think Ginn would beat Hester in a sprint, and own him in the hurdles, but on a football field with 11 defenders and 10 blockers, Hester will be in the end zone dancing before Ginn even touches the ball.

This statement is textbook definition of homerism.

You ghat a problem wittit!?

On the field? Or on the track? Two totally different speeds.

IMO, the fastest player on the field is Steve Smith.

I have yet to find any who can cover Lee Evans deep either.

Hester is fast as well. Kick returners are strange though. You have guys running at you in one direction and your going fast in th eother, so its hard to judge a KR's speed. I think Hester is fast, just not the fastest. He got caught on his kick return in the superbowl. If Hester is 100 speed, Matt Giordano, the guy that caught him is a 150 speed.

Smith isn't even the fastest player on the Panthers. I heard him say himself last year in an interview that Drew Carter is faster than him.
