Well...to be fair...surgery makes your broken parts less likely to break again than it happening to someone else for the first time...

and he only blew his knee because a helmet crashed into it.

It's not like he tore his ligaments running...that stuff is unavoidable and could happen to anyone at anytime.

THAT... is not necessarily true, dolphan.

What you're saying may be true in the case of certain injuries, but I know very well that certain tears or the repair thereof will cause the creation of scar tissue which can then cause impingement, such as in the case of a torn rotator cuff.

The reality that it was torn and/or surgically repaired leaves it MORE susceptible to further tears than would be the case with a never-injured cuff. The ortho-surgeon will seek to remove existing scar tissue and repair to help limit the prospect of excess scarring, but it's a greater problem than the risk to the uninjured, either way.
 
Oh...I didn't know that. I thought that it stood for all injuries. Thanks.
