Quarterback wish list may get smaller

It's pretty obvious that we are rebuilding. If any other team would make the moves the Fins made, we wouldn't even argue about it. If that isn't rebuilding, I don't know what is. However, there's no coach in this league who would CALL it rebuilding. That's not what you do. Rebuilding suggests that you don't care a whole lot about the results this year (which basically comes close to what Mueller and Cameron are implying with their moves), but saying it out loud is another matter. If you admit to rebuilding, you lose your lockerroom. That's why you don't say it even if you do it.

There are parts about rebuilding that don't hold true to this team. Why sign Porter if we are in rebuilding mode. Why even consider Green? I'm not sure they have made any implication in thier moves.

Apparently they think that Porter still has three or four good years left in the tank - at least that's what his contract suggests (you don't give him that much in guaranteed money if you think he'll only be around for two years). Besides, we have zero OLBs on the roster and a lot of other needs, so you had to make something happen in FA if you didn't want to draft a whole new team in three or four years.

Green only makes sense to me as a starter for one year while you develop a young guy (say Quinn). While he might appear like a shortterm solution, he really is part of a longterm development. At least that's what I read out of the moves. Signing some key veterans is part of a good rebuilding. You can't draft an entire team unfortunately.

the only guy ive missed a little bit in losing is wes and we got great compensation for him...the TE position to me is not biggie in the sense that I think Cam will get the most of our TE whether it be Martin or someone else....Mcmike was good but not elite in any standard.....as for our oline.....we need to build our oline....its about time this happens.......give it time boys but i love what he's doing...call it what u want

We haven't rebuilt anything, we just removed some of the rot...... Don't you need to replace parts before it's a rebuild?

For veterans like Zach and JT it would be demoralizing to think that they will play their last few years in a team thats rebuilding so its best to be PC and say you are re-loading.

IMO Its a matter of semantics more than anything else.

If veterans like them are traded then we could justifiably say that we are rebuilding.
