2009-2010 Miami Heat Thread: Race to the Finish

heat completely owning this 2nd overtime! - haslem CLUTCH - thank you, Udonis :hi5:

What an awesome game.....glad I remembered to record it.

B-Easy got most of his touches within the flow of the offense, which was encouraging. And great clutch plays by Beasley, Q-Rich, Haslem, Arroyo, Chalmers....they all proved their mettle when it mattered most.

Also, for all those who like to complain about our lousy coach....hes made some great moves recently. The intermittent 2-3 zone has been brilliant, especially against these teams that can't shoot the ball. Running the second team offense through O'Neal has also paid dividends. And taking the ball out of Chalmers' hands seems to work as well.....either Arroyo or Wright initiate the offense when he plays point.

Its so frustrating to watch Cook and Wright. They have it all....pretty jumpers, ridiculous athleticism, length, handling skills....and they can't put it together on the floor. I'm not going to be all that sad to see Wright go. What a tease.

Spo's defensive scheming is fine. Some of his substitutions have me scratching my head, but my biggest gripe is him treating Beasley like dog ****.

Playing your best available player less than 35 mins is unacceptable. And what's up with continuing to sub for him on defense. How about building some confidence in him? How about telling him you believe in him on both sides, develop the young player - although it seems he believes in him on neither side, going away from him on 3 straight possessions with under 4 mins.

This game was probably over in regulation if Miami didn't wait til 5 mins in the 4th to let Beas back in the game, and persisted to go away from him offensively. It's ridiculous.

anyone else missing caron butler right now? i am - he's 5-5 so far...

heat up 7 despite a horrible start - this team plays better without dwade, lol - play more like a team anyway - glad they made no trades before the deadline - they need to push hard for bosh

Wade and Bosh would be a great combo.

I like the way they've handled Beasley and I can't agree that the best way to develop your young player is to throw him in the fire and give him the ball. Last year the edict was clear....rebound and play defense and we'll give you minutes. And it worked. He now rebounds the ball and plays defense.

I do think they need to get him the ball more on the offensive end. Adding little nuances into his game like they have with guys cutting while hes on an island against the Mavs is a good thing. There needs to be more than Beasley facing up 30 ft from the basket and taking his man off the dribble. Its all well and good when its one on one, but when they start throwing the double team his way he gets into trouble and hes not yet all that adept at passing out of trouble.
