2009-2010 Miami Heat Thread: Race to the Finish

Only way I'm on board is IF the trade involves Michael Beasley coming to Phoenix. I think in the long run that would be a steal.

I think that's the only way Phoenix goes for it. Hickson or cap relief....both seem to be pretty lousy options for the Suns.

True.

If we ended up with Richardson and Amare, we'd have to hope like hell that Amare wouldn't opt out, because we'd be pretty screwed.

So would we just go with Alston at the point the rest of the year?

Prolly see more Dwade bringing the ball up with Richardson added to the mix. Definitely would be a lot of firepower with Beasley and Amare in the line-up. I can see coach Spo's hair graying as i think about it! Just can't see him wanting to coach that. He's a great teacher but i'm not a fan. He doesn't adapt to his players. He's more like Jimmy Johnson was when he took over the Fins. Making the players fit his system vs Shula who changed his system to fit his players i.e. Marino

Cavs get Jamison, now the Heat are the only truely known suitors for Amar'e (76ers have VERY mild interest).

Hey guys. What is the specific deal being mentioned here. I hope it doesnt include Beasley. I heard Amare and Richardson for Cook, Wright, O'Neal? Is there gonna be another price drop in the NBA league pass or is 100 dollars from now to til the end of the season? Thanks and lets hope Amare is a memeber of the heat

I think last night ESPN said it was Amar'e and possibly Jason Richardson for Quentin Richardson, Cook, Chalmers, Wright and possibly draft picks.

We're going to have a skeleton of a team if that happens.

Who'd be our starting 5? O'Neal/Amare/Beasley/D-Wade/Alston?

I read too that there may be a deal that would send Jermaine O'Neal to PHX and we'd get Amare and Jason Richardson.

So that would be Amare/Beasley/Richardson/D-Wade/Alston or something similar I guess.

Deleted post cause I added up the salary and we would be adding something like 16 mill, doubt we would or could do that.

I think you're right, we'd have to add O'Neal if we're getting Amar'e and JRich.

From the sounds of it the last couple of days the Suns don't want anything to do with JO.

I wouldn't be surprised if Riley doesn't make a trade before the deadline.

Apparently the only thing holding up the deal is the Suns have now asked for the Heat's other first round pick as well, and the Heat just don't want to do that.

Seems Suns will either have to take the 4 player/1 pick package or keep an upset Amar'e and let him go for nothing in the offseason.

Nice defense....even if it was against a lousy team like the Nets. Kinda sad to see O'Neal hobbling around, but he still put forth a decent effort.

Beasley carried the team. He still has a long ways to go, but you gotta give a lot of credit to Spoelstra, 'Zo, the staff, and Beasley himself. With all the offseason turmoil, him having to watch Haslem close out games, the reported tension between him and teammates.....he really has made significant improvements in his game. He plays defense now....can you say the same for any of his compatriots in the '08 class?
