2009-2010 Miami Heat Thread: Race to the Finish

This team is so frustrating to watch. Outside of Wade, Beasley, and Haslem this team is a joke.

At this point I'm rooting for them to be in the lottery. Don't hit me with the "oh way to be a real fan" comment, if this team makes the playoffs it'd be as a 6th-8th seed and we'd get rolled in the first round. What would that accomplish really? This team has more holes than swiss cheese.

I know we won't get a top 5 or even top 10 pick but hopefully in the 11-14 range we can nab someone like DeMarcus Cousins, Patrick Patterson, Devin Ebanks, hell I'd even take Stanley Robinson even though he never really impressed untill this season.

Wade was ice cold in the 2nd half.

Wade has been awful in crunch time this year, making uncharacteristic turn overs and other bad plays in crucial moments. It's uncharacteristic because it's the polar opposite of the rest of his career.

To be honest I really don't think he cares this year. Heat FO has made it abundantly clear this is a throw away season. I just hope it doesn't cause Wade to walk, because he's visibly frustrated.

Seems like it's good play for about a half, and that's about it, either the 1st or 2nd half.

I honestly thought we'd be better this year, and I figured we'd win a few more games when we got Rafer Alston.

I agree though, I really hope this doesn't cause him to walk at the end of the year.

Wade wanted that one......for whatever reason his jumper deserted him in the third quarter. It looked like he burned himself out with the frenetic play in the first half.

As for the playoffs.....they're going to make it. This is a .500 squad unless injuries hit or everything falls apart, and in the east .500 gets you in the postseason. The draft pick argument has no validity....the probability of finding a decent player isn't any different at 12 or 20. There's going to be 3-5 really good players that come out of any draft. Half will go in the top 5.....the others scattered throughout the rest of the draft. All the higher pick gives you is the ability of the front office to target their guy. And honestly with his recent track record I'd rather have Riley forced into a pick like he was with Wade or Beasley than let him pick his guy like he did with Wright or Cook.

The Heat are struggling again tonight against the Bulls. They are down 89-86 with 43.2 seconds remaiming in the fourth.

That's 5 losses in a row. Houston next, and then at Atlanta. could be stretched to 7. This team is fading fast.

I'm hoping we can take one against Houston, mainly because it's at home. Of course, we haven't been that good at AAA this year relatively speaking.

@ Atlanta the night after is going to be a killer.

Wade calls out Spoelstra, says team is too predictable

For the first time in their marriage as superstar player and neophyte head coach, Dwyane Wade has publicly and pointedly taken issue with the approach of Erik Spoelstra.

In the wake of Saturday's 95-91 loss in Chicago, a loss that extended the Heat's losing streak to five, the longest in Spoelstra's two seasons as coach, Wade said predictability has contributed to the team's series of late-game struggles.

"We've got to find a way also to mix it up, stop being a team that everybody knows exactly what we're going to do and they just play us the same way," the seventh-year guard said.

You know this team is 8-15 Since the end of December. You'd think Spoelstra would try some different line ups by now but it's still the same old tired ****, same line up, same rotations.

If it were up to me i'd be trying this for a few games,
Arroyo/Wade/Wright/Beasley/Magloire

Jermaine O'neal off the bench for an offensive spark. His legs don't have what it takes to play productive starter minutes anyway.

Wright has been out playing Richardson for weeks in my opinion, and Magloire is the best all purpose center on the roster. We have a problem getting worked on the boards, he's the best answer. He's not the offensive player that O'Neal is by a long shot, but certainly not as bad as Joel. He can finish plays if set up.
