2009-2010 Miami Heat Thread: Race to the Finish

Kinda sad but I see this team and wonder how great it would be to have a mediocre center like Haywood or Dalembert.

The problem with Arroyo/Wright/Magloire is that they're all downgrades defensively, and this team already struggles on that end of the floor with Wade being hidden on the weakest opponent and Beasley outmatched physically by most forwards.

Recently Spoelstra seems to be going back to last year's philosophy of sticking with whoever is hot at the moment. But in too many games noone is hot, so what do you do? He goes with Wright against Cleveland with QRich missing everything, and Wright gets abused by Lebron. Its lose lose.

that and arent the heat like 1 -12 in turnaround games? i forsee a blow out loss because thats what we like to do after we blow someone out.
 
dam the hawks, they have to be the best young team right now, i love there line up especially with crawford in it now

We're like manic depressives this season. We either blow teams out, or we get blown out. Nothing in between.
 
Report: Heat after Amare Stoudemire

The Heat is hot and heavy after Phoenix power forward Amare Stoudemire, according to a Yahoo! report. What would it mean?

(a) Riley is seriously fearful of losing Dwayne Wade in the off-season and wants to make a move that helps the Heat in the short term.

(b) Riley realizes the gamble of signing LeBron James and/or Chris Bosh isn't worth the risk of coming up empty. Stoudemire has an option for $17 million next year, so if that stays it would preclude signing another huge star.

(c) Michael Beasley is gone, considering Stoudemire plays the same position. If Beasley isn't part of this trade, he's part of another right behind it.

(d) Riley is going to attempt to re-shape the team on the run this season.
Another deal would be coming immediately considering Beasley and the fact that the Heat's free-agent money would be spent on Stoudemire and there's no sense waiting until then.

(e) Beasley will go put up Stoudemire numbers in a faster-paced offense.

(f) The Heat would be bigger on the frontline. But not much more intimidating from a defensive presence. Stoudemire averages on block a game. Not much.

”Nobody is pushing harder on this than Riley,” one league source said of the Stoudemire talks, according to Yahoo!'s Adrian Wojnarowski.

No doubt Riley is pushing for it....still a long shot. Not only do the Suns need to be convinced Amare is bailing on them this season but everyone else who can put together far more attractive offers than the Heat need to be convinced hes not interested in staying with them long term. I don't think the Suns want Beasley, so all that leaves is Haslem, other expiring deals and draft picks.
 
Now watch Cook win the three point contest again......bring our hopes up again, and crash the second half of the season....
 
im still in shock that the heat won, in atlanta, after a game last night, and after blowing the previous team out. :jcane:
