2009-2010 Miami Heat Thread: Race to the Finish

Spoelstra : 'Inconsistency is, at this point, unacceptable'

To Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra, Wednesday was about neither excuses nor explanations.

It was about tangible disappointment that still was present when the team reconvened at AmericanAirlines Arena 14 hours after Tuesday's 91-88 loss to the visiting Minnesota Timberwolves.

Instead of focusing on specifics of what went wrong in the loss to the Western Conference's worst team, Spoelstra addressed the season as a whole.

"It's going to take a whole lot more than we gave yesterday," he said in brusque, forceful words just outside the Heat locker room, after a video session and team meeting that went more than two hours. "But it's also going to take a lot more than we've given this year, in terms of our consistency.

"We've been able to turn it on, then we relax, and that's been a pattern that has to stop right now. And it will."

The pattern for Spoelstra after disappointing losses this season has been to move forward, let go of the frustration, build toward what is ahead.

thank god the hurricanes are on tv today because the heat suck balls! - great behind the back jam by dorell wright (only hilite so far)

So much for Wade coming back this weekend, and Beasley still has some serious confidence issues out there. He's never cutting to the basket and always standing around.

There's really nobody on this team that can consistently create for everyone else. Our PGs suck. We're up **** creek without Wade. This is a lottery team without that guy. Just like it would have been last year if he didn't have an mvp like season, and it was the year before when he was injured, and we got the #2 pick.

Wade is frustrated as hell, I will not be surprised if he walks.

Well the team that got the #2 pick wasn't the team we have now. Most of that team was filled with D-League players simply trying to get that first overall pick. This team is probably a #9 or 10 pick.

Sucks, but nor would I. He is in the prime of his life and with his boy Lebron in the same position, I wouldn't doubt that they go somewhere together and unfortunately that will probably be NY! I will never watch basketball again, promise!
