2012 - 2013 did Ireland maximise the opportunity to improve?

Once again, the KC Chiefs never allowed Albert to be traded. Which is why they never allowed a physical....which basically means he wasnt on the trade market.

Ireland didnt shut the doors. KC did.

Granted, but there were rumours all through training camp that Martin was struggling. Why leave till so late to bring in someone else to compete. Why weren't we in for Eugene Monroe? Why didn't we bringing McKinnie earlier??

I love Dion Jordan but he is a 3-4 OLB. With that 2nd pick Menelik Watson was drafted, a guy who was considered 1st round talent but dropped due to combine. Before injury he was playing very well for Raiders.

Just Look at the Offensive line.....it's a mess..he did not maximize the opportunity to improve. Good bye Ireland...good riddance.

Hell no he didn't do it right...some of us have been saying it since before the draft. Nothing has changed other than a few homers getting their eyes opened...

So we can count on you to push the draft OL in first round megaphone right?
Im thinking not.

we needed to get more athletic than dansby and burnett in this scheme so im fine with the move. the problem is the 2 guys brought in, though more athletic are not better football players.

The way I see it, the new scheme is the problem. Under the previous Front 7 scheme, Miami was better against the run, and Wake was getting more sacks. All that was needed was an upgraded secondary, and maybe replace Dansby or Burnett. Now, the secondary has improved, but Wake's sacks have gone down and they are no longer dominant against the run.

IMO, the offensive and defensive schemes of the previous regime were better "in theory". Yes, they still needed a new coaching staff, better playcalling, and upgrades at the playmaker positions, but there was no need to bring in someone who wanted a completely opposite offensive and defensive philosophy. So, instead of improving a team that lacked a few playmakers (except for Bush), we now have a team that can't run, can't score in the 4th quarter, and has actually regressed from year one to year two even though "playmakers" were added. This team is not improving under Philbin, Sherman, and Coyle, so don't waste another year on them!

I do agree in part.....especially with defense
