Make it happen Hickey!

be like putting sean smith back in our lineup...way i see it at least

Yeah.. But to his credit, he was usually decent at cover the big wr's or te's. I guess for me, there would be hope we could draft a big physical corner who amounts more to Smith. But I realize the scheme issue.

Right now if we stand pat:

1. TE Eric Ebron, North Carolina / LB C.J. Mosley, Alabama

2. OG Xavier S'ua-Filo, California / OL Brandon Thomas, Clemson

3. OL Billy Turner, ND St. / C Weston Richburg, Colorado St. / RB Carlos Hyde, Ohio St.

4. RB Bishop Sankey, Washington / RB Charles Sims, West Virginia / OG Trai Turner, LSU

I like those scenarios.... a lot!

Jimmie Wilson as a viable option is laughable and something I am terrified will come to pass.

DING-DING-DING-DING!!!!! WE HAVE A WINNER FOLKS!!!

i said this very thing before the past season started, if jimmy wilson and nolan carroll are still on the team and either or both are starting, we are doomed. that means whoever we drafted or brought in at cb or safety was a bust. or, they just didnt get rid of them and bring in others [as they should have done] as we know already both are not even back up worthy.

which brings us to the now. we did draft two db's and one was a medical red flag and played maybe 20 snaps and the other under sized and rawer than slab of steak off a calf and we have them on salary and have no idea if either can play. which puts hickey in a MAJOR bind as he knows we needed db's in the worse way. 1 and a half db's get you no where accept lit up on the score board. teams can STILL THROW ON US AT WILL and we need 2 more cb's and a safety. we have no idea if either of the the pair drafted last year can play or not. not a good situation!!

its a great year for db's. as well as other positions. but with the nfl now being pass at all costs, you have to have 5 legit starters on your secondary and your safetys absolutely must be coverage/ballhawks types [see seattle]. jones is still a question mark and thats why i say we only have 1 [geezer grimes] and a half [jones] players in the secondary.

so, what to do? and AGAIN, if carroll and jimmy wilson are still on this team come start of camp, we are doomed again for the year. not taking out the trash leads to a pile of trash that stinks up the joint and rots everything around it. we know those two can not play at a level this team [or any other] needs to succeed in todays air nfl. hickey needs to start there, get rid of those two and bring in new talent.

o-line and db are the absolute 2 biggest priorities for this team. one as important as the other. we need o-line so we can score more points and we need db's so teams are not throwing and scoring on us at will.

Trade up from 19 to 9 with the third , fourth , fifth and sixth pick to get Taylor Lewan, use round 2 on a RT or guard like suafilo pick up beadles or saffold, asomoah
Lewan LT
asomoah lg
pouncy center
sua filo rg
Saffold RT

Free Agency

Resign: Grimes, Solia

Sign: Monroe, Beadles, Andre Brown,leache

Round 1: Hasean Clinton Dix-Playmaking safety that we really need. Around the area he should come off the board.

Round 2: Morgan Moses-sub par combine and loads of lineman talent drops lazors lineman in our lap

Round 3: Troy Niklas-Late bloomer and loads of talent to work with as a notre dame te. Pair with clay and well be fine there

Round 4: Jordan Tripp-Had a great offseason with the senior bowl and combine. Can learn and rotate with Jenkins and Philip Whiffer and replace him next year.

Round 5: Will Sutton- Overweight and bad off season makes this realistic. Kacy Rodgers can whip him into a force in the NFL. Will play behind solia, odrick and Francis.

Round 6: Bryn Renner-Most underrated qb in the draft. Will be a player in the NFL and could at least be a great backup

QB:Ryan Tannehill, Matt Moore, Bryn Renner

RB:Andre Brown,Miller,Thomas -__- Thigpen

Fb:leache

Wr:Wallace,Hartline,Gibson,Binns and Matthews

TE:Clay,Niklas,Sims and Egnew

Ot: Monroe,Moses,Yeatman

Og:Beadles, Garner and Brenner

C:pouncey and garner

DE:Wake,Vernon,Jordan,Shelby (wow that looks amazing)

Dt:Solia,Odrick,Francis and Sutton

MLB:Ellerbe,Tripp,Trusnik

OLB:Misi,Whiffer -__- Jenkins

Cb:Grimes,Taylor,Patterson,Davis

Fs: Dix, Wilson

Ss:Jones (needs to step it up) Thomas(2014 hero)

Kr:Thigpen

Pr:Thigpen

There are a few positions that could not be filled with superstars, but besides wheeler and garner it looks like a better roster than last year and projecting 2nd year players (Taylor especially) sims and Jordan to make impact, I'll say this roster LOOKS like it can win 9-11 games...BUT it in the end depends on Tannehill. Again I expect Jamar Taylor and Dion Jordan to make a BIG impact on this team next year which should help on defense. Andre Brown is here to push or supplant Miller as the lead back as I haven't lost all hope in miller. I would love shazier or mosley but chose Dix instead in the 1st but I love Tripp. O.k enough rambling

Round 1

Louis Nix III- DT Notre Dame

I think he has a chance to fall to us a he would be a dominant DT right away

Round 2
Xavier Su'a- Filo
Could be a starter at LG immediately, also very athletic

Round 3
Billy Turner- OT North Dakota State
Love his athleticism and quickness, would be a great pickup in round 3 and could play immediately

If we have Branden Albert signed up for LT, this would be 3 of the 4 starters replaced and an upgrade at every position as well. I think Nix would be a dominant interior tackle and would really solidify the run defense. I just don't want to reach for an OT in round 1 when this draft is so deep.

Thoughts?

Solid and realistic

The deepest draft of our life time and you want to trade it all away for that?

What if we are unable to get the ideal linemen in FA, and only get say a gaurd, and going into the draft at each of our picks we are FORCED to reach for a linemen, do you take BPA or reach for need?

I worry we may have a hard time getting what we need in FA (LT,G,RT,DT,FS), and get stuck reaching for linemen.

This is where Mckinney comes in IMO. Cheap and reliable enough to stableize position while getting a Martin to eventually take it if need be. Brenner can simply fill in with Garner. Mckinney is last resort for me.

Alot of people would poo poo this but the guy is huge and tons of experience. Any liability is not a deal breaker.

Trai Turner is on my list for sure. 4th round would be excellent. Ebron wont be at 19. I like all your OL but not sold on Billy Turner but thats not saying much. lol

Seastrunk RB Baylor is catching my eye. big read-option killer with Tannehill?

Seastrunk doesn't do it for me...too east-west. Love Trai tho, there's a handful of OL I'd be happy with in rounds 2-4. A trade down would be very nice, and extra 2nd or 3rd would do us wonders.
