Can't play it at work but the article title says it all. I assume that Florio says Shanny and Tannembaum couldn't coexist?

Not really. State he has "no shot" by people. Did not know if the interview was out of "courtesy", to "compare notes" or if it was to throw other teams off.

i think thats the safe assumption. Sadly we get the worse choice in the equation. Shannahan is far better at his job than Tannenbaum is at his

It is sad, but also not unexpected if true. We certainly don't want anybody to leave their swim lane......

TO BE FAIR,

Mike Florio has been very wrong about a very large number of things over a very long period of time. He used to get a lot more scoops before he went mainstream.

For what it's worth.

This was my sort of takeaway. Any one of us could've come up with that "scoop" just by making an assumption about Tannenbaum and Shanahan's personalities.

I know people like Shanahan here, but he is not getting a job.

His Theories

He says we go after a coach that "stays in the lane"
Says we will go after a coach doesn't aspire to come with his keys to the car in hand or someone aspires to get the keys in two years.

Says he heard Shanahan has no shot

Dolphins will try to sell to fans that they got their first target even though they won't (reason for so many interviews)

Plan c as plan a

Years ago, when PFT was a lesser known site, and before Mike Florio was on the radio -- before he was bought out by NBC -- he actually did get some interesting scoops. He would get rumors you couldn't get anywhere else, or that nobody else was willing to print.

For instance, when Haynesworth was in Tennessee, Florio was the only media person who actually put in print that Haynesworth was viewed as a 'turd' by a lot of people. He actually used the word 'turd' to describe a football player.

You read PFT now, and he's still snarky, but there's no edge and there's nothing you won't find anywhere else.

I took that into consideration before hitting play. Most of it was his theories anyways.

I can't stand Florio.....but here is the way I look at it. Hiring an experienced coach is the right thing to do, which means we will not do it. We will rationalize something different and go down the same old path as we always have.

It is actually very simple.....

I actually like a lot of the candidates, for what it's worth. I would be very happy with Mike Shanahan. I would be interested in giving Teryl Austin or Adam Gase a shot, after doing some research on them; they're promising candidates. I would be fine with Hue Jackson. I could live with Mike Smith. I could live with Dan Campbell, if he has a vision for the football team and is willing to blow out a lot of dead wood in the coaching staff.

But the Bills RB Coach? Doug Marrone????? I'm going full tilt on this team from day one if we turn the team over to a Rex Ryan flunkie or a Parcells flunkie.

Yeah, I have seen some of your posts about Marrone....he definitely has a lot of red flags and I get the concern.

I'm not going to jump off a bridge if any of these guys get hired, but I still feel like this team needs experience right now very badly. From the position coaches to the coordinators we need an overhaul, and the first time coaches are going to have to deal with that. It will not be the end of the world, but experience makes that a lot easier.

We shall see....
