Giants confirm that they interviewed Bears OC Adam Gase today for their head coach job.

Gase decision coming soon?

Former Syracuse coach, and former Bills coach, and current Jaguars assistant Doug Marrone is up next on Saturday.

I hope Hue Jackson gets a true shot. What a weekend for him. I am sure he will interview poorly. Again, if the Bengals lose, I would roll the dice and cancel and set an interview up for Monday afternoon so he can prep and get his sea legs.

Hue would be a solid hire. I have concerns about his judgment after the Oakland situation, but the man can freakin' coach.

Among the coached listed - and to list the moss talked about (Smith, Austin, Marrone, Gase, Shanahan & Jackson) - I want the guy who can assemble the best staff - Period!

That may speak to the experienced head coach options like Marrone, Shanahan and Smith - but if a Austin or Gase can pull a great staff then great. I guess that's what takes so long in these interviews!!

I have to say I'd be happy to OK with any choice here with no clear preference as to who gets it but with some reservations about Shanahan and Smith.

If Jackson wants a job this year, it looks like SF or Miami....or does Cincinnati lose and they fire Lewis and promote Hue immediately?

I think it's highly unlikely that Marvin Lewis will be fired if he loses this weekend.

His starting QB is out and his backup QB is banged up, as well.

I would fly Lewis straight to miami if that was the case...

He could very well retire.

Hes stated that the minute he wins a Superbowl hes done. Hes going to hang it to Mike Brown and ride off into the sunset. But if he keeps getting knocked out in the opening round he might decide enough is enough. He has rebuilt that roster, so its possible he feels hes "done his job" to a certain extent. Its also possible he moves into the front office to work with Brown's daughter on running the team.

I agree. The Bengals were once considered just as much a clownshow as this current Dolphins organization is now... He turned the culture around completely and turned them into a perrennial playoff team.

Of course, Ross wouldn't recognize that though and probably hire the supposed wunderkind Gase instead...
