So not being on record how do we no Thomas is against Marrone. Maybe his problems with Cleveland more. I don't give a **** what Joes so called sacrifices are. Truth he's aggravated with the franchises direction Marrone would be the least of a guy like his problem. With his work ethic he'd be the coaches go to player

Let's use a more real world scenario to compare this situation to.

You're the top sales rep at a company, you're great at what you do, one of the best in your field, and you've been with your current employer for almost a decade. Unfortunately the company is an absolute mess, which sucks because you have a vested interest in the company. You've waited for almost a decade for the company to turnaround, had 4 different bosses in the last 6 years, all of whom ran the show in an entirely different fashion. You get word that ownership is considering hiring a new sales head, who based on the word of colleagues that you know, trust, and respect is a complete asshole who berates his staff. You speak privately to ownership and express that you would consider leaving for other opportunities if they hire this berating asshole, which given your ability are abundant. Word gets out around the office that you may consider leaving if this new boss is hired.

Ah, so no we are souring on Shanahan because of Josina Anderson's statement, that may or may not be Dolphins related. Two years is not that long to be out. But no surprise coming from you Hayden, considering you are probably the only person on the planet Earth that has Tannebaum rated so high, other than Ross.

Depening on when I take lunch, I usually watch NFL Insiders or NFL Live in the cafe @ work. As far as info goes, its not bad but their opinions are no better than Skip Bayless just less shouting.

As DF pointed out, credibility & perspective are subjective if not IMO downright comical?

However, there is no question that he has become completely overrated around here. I think he is a very solid coach, but the pedestal that people are putting him on is crazy.

Think how many openings the league has had since he has left football. Think how few jobs he has even interviewed for let alone be a finalist for...

Maybe he catches on in SF. However, I do not think it will be here.

Didn't he sign a 5 yr. 35M guaranteed contract January 2010?

Experience is Exactly what we need!

I agree experience is important. I wrote about it as such.

However, I feel we are getting so simplistic around here saying Miami needs "experience".

Where the Bills smart when Dick Juron was hired...plenty of experience. Same when they hired Chan Gailey? Was that wise?

My point is they have to find the right guy in all of this.

I would put Hue Jackson head and shoulders above Mike Shanahan for example. Younger, can relate to athletes better, currently in the game...

Shanahan overrated on FH? He doesn't even come close to Gruden & Cowher.

That said, his experience, scheme, temperment/personality are just IMO what the phins need.

I think the relating to younger players is BS....Pete Carroll and Bellichick are in their sixties and it seems to work ok for them.

But I don't have any problem with Hue Jackson and think he would also be a good choice. I want prior HC experience. This organization needs structure, confidence and maturity and that comes from experienced head coaches.

It is not impossible to get that from a first time guy, but it is less likely.

No, you go thru all the interviews and gather as much info as possible. Never discount "a never has been HC", after all you never know, but is that a gamble we need at this point?

I would totally support Shanahan if hired. I am simply making the point that there are other candidates out there that would be as competent if not more than Shanahan. Look at how little interest there is in him over the years.

In the end, he will not be the coach in Miami. Much ado about nothing IMO.

I love it now that when anyone wants to debate me they have to bring up that I actually support the man running the ****ing team we cheer for. It is such an awesome comeback people are making.

I have been beating the drum of experience, but at the same time, I think we are being to simplistic by thinking we will be fine with an experienced hand while at the same time we will have Philbin with an inexperienced coach.

During the Redskins game while the cheese heads are thumping them, we will announce an agreement in principle with Shanny.

If I'm wrong it wont matter one bit, if I'm correct then everyone laughs at Snyder......harder.

According to Paul Domowitch of the Philadelphia Daily News, citing a league source, reports that former Buccaneers HC Jon Gruden has informed Eagles owner Jeffery Lurie, through an intermediary, that he is interested in their head-coaching vacancy.

Domowitch’s source added that Lurie likes and respects Gruden, but still has reservations about his willingness “to play nice” with executive Howie Roseman.

However, Gruden has reportedly told people that working with Roseman wouldn’t be an issue.

Even so, Lurie and the Eagles are reportedly focused on other coaching candidates with the option of getting in touch with Gruden, should they be underwhelmed, left as a possibility.
