NFL source: Hue Jackson is the clear front-runner for the 49ers job, pending his interview on Sunday.

Interesting. We could do worse. Football mind wise all signs point to him being in the top tier. I'd still prefer Shanny or Hue. But he's moved ahead of Marrone. I wish we'd look at McDermott if we went first time HC, because I have him in a tier above Austin and Gase. Good hire with risks. Well spoken guy in his interviews, don't see a life long coordinator like some. The writing has seemed to have been on the wall all week, assuming he didn't go to Philly it seemed like he has been our first choice throughout the process.

Yep.

Dolphins may be interested in Gase but is he interested in them? Have a feeling he ends up in the north east.

Nothing should be done until Hue gets interviewed. I believe this is how a lot of NFL teams are maneuvering right now. Hue is a very wanted man - if Miami lands him, that's a major home run for the team. I believe, behind the scenes, if Miami can't land either Jackson or Gase, then I think they're gonna get Mike Shanahan as the fallback option. Team reps have been in talks with him since December - I think there's something very real there.

And frankly, having Mike Shanahan as your fallback option is pretty darn good.

So in a scenario where Gase goes to NY Giants and Hue to 49'ers that leaves who for Miami?

This is one time I'm actually hoping for the fallback option.

Shanahan > Gase

Jackson chose Kaepernick and his flexible contract over "franchise QB Tannehill" and his guaranteed deal. Or maybe he prefers Gabbert?

Just as I've been saying, No one wants to stick there career to Tannehill anymore. He's already taken out 3 offensive coordinators.

Both deals are flexible. and Tannehill is a lot better than Kaep.

Jackson hasn't chose anything, he hasn't even interviewed w/ the 49ers yet. All speculation.

I've read once that Tannehills deal has some flexability but I don't know how so. Maybe it is very flexible, I dunno. But Kaep's deal you can cut whenever you want.

49ers already interviewed guys who some people believe Would be part of Jackson's staff. I agree though, it's all speculation, but there's a little bit of reason to believe it at least.
