I look at it like this; Sparano took us to the playoffs year one and turned this team completely around and Ireland got us a QB who could lead us. Completely turned this team around. Wildcat suprise is behind it as well.
Then, we took a turn for the worse. But we got rid of the DC and brought in a guy to fix it in Nolan. Now we look great! It took two years to get here but any reasonable person should expect this.
Then we sucked on O and Henning along with wildcat dude made this offense predictable to the enemy and we stunk and put henne in bad spots. Then we got a new OC in Daboll who runs a NE style offense where it spreads guys out with speed. It is a QB friendly offense. You get rid of the ball fast, which to me, is one of henne's biggest probs. This offense should naturally make henne get the ball out quicker. So if we get more TD's than FG's with a great defense, then we should beat many teams. We beat good teams last year on the road.
This management has improved each facit of the game one at a time IMO. Yes O needs to be proven yet but i sense it already is an improvement based on Henning gone. this regime has built this team now IMO. We have a full deck of cards and waiting for QB play, good OL play, and cohesive units. The one coveat is special teams. We sucked bad vs. Pats in both games and other games and were decent later on but to no avail. This management has made this team better even though the record last year does not show it. As long as these guys continually improve each facit, then you will eventually have a successful franchise. I think Ireland is doing it. If you dont like the fist pumps, i say, would you like him to be a lazy bum looking into space like Wannstedt?
I am looking for improvement in the O in points scored bottome line. If we make this O successful but still fall short (likely) then why on this earth would you want to change now? you shouldnt want to. You should demand that whatever is falling short, that it gets improved so that all 45 guys make a great team. Not just Chad Henne.
