40 points...WHY?!

That 40 pt mark was in the back of my head as well as most of the hypocrite posters in this thread as well probably. I'm glad Philbin did the classy thing though because we hate those coaches that don't. BILLICHEAT.

I wanted us to run it up, but at that point in the game, the objective is to get out without injuries. Joe showed a bit of class and let Dennis Allen save the tiniest shred of dignity. He's going to need it when he's fired tonight.

I doubt that anybody would mind a 45-14 win over a 38-14 win. But with 5 or 6 min left...no, you don't do that (unless its against the Pats )

It would be different if we would be up 38-14 in the middle of the third quarter or like Atlanta was up against Tampa 35-0 at halftime. Then you may have a gripe for not scoring anymore.

We were up 24-7 and scored 14-0 in the third quarter. That's what you call killer instinct.

You remember the years with Wannstedt when we had a 2 TD lead at half? Run, run, run, punt...just to let the other team come back.

You guys are doing a good job of trying my patience. If the running lane opened up do you seriously think we wouldn't have taken the TD? Joe Philbin doesn't give a rats ass about making Dennis Allen look good or bad.

Had we scored another TD we'd have a different stupid thread about the meanie Joe Philbin running up the score. I can promise you that much.

I always bring this up and I feel like a useless broken record, but I will NEVER forget the halftime interview with Dave Wannstedt when Miami was up by double digits and Wannstedt was asked what the plan was for the second half. He said, and I am not making this up,

"We need to keep it close and try to win it in the 4th quarter."

I hated that man.

I would have loved for RT to have 3 TDs on the day given how well he played but I'll take 38-14 any day.

I'm never one for insulting other Dolphins fans especially after a big win, but are like 90% of the posters in this thread daft or did you just post a response without reading what I wrote?

First of all, who's bitching about anything here? I'm thrilled we beat a bad team! I'm thrilled we beat any team! That's what we should do, that's what good teams do to bad teams.

Are you the same people that don't care about the perfect season being upheld? I don't give a **** if we win by 1 point or 100, it's about the PRINCIPLE in this case. This is a discussion forum, no? Then instead of trying to insult the way I celebrate my fandom, try and discuss this topic:

Why is it that we constantly are in situations where we are down by 7 points or more, find ourselves in a 4th and 1, and elect to kick a FG when we need a TD, but today the game is a lock, we already know we've won and we have 3 points sitting there for the taking, but on a more unlikely scenario of 4th and 3, elect to run the ball?

In my opinion, and probably anyone else's that's ever watched football, IT MAKES NO SENSE! Don't say I don't know what killer instinct is, when you meant to direct that comment to Joe Philbin. Killer instinct is not taking your starters out of the game and leaving points on the field that were there for the taking.

I'm totally fine with it if there isn't a single other person on this board that agrees with me, but this has nothing to do with winning or losing, or by how much, it's about logic (which just so would've happened to result in our highest score in 11 years). If you're the one calling the plays, do you really let your second team, run it on 4th and 3 and not just take the free points? C'mon man!

What makes no sense is you making a thread complaining about how we didn't score 40 points. The responses you are getting are very appropriate because, despite what you said in you're original post, you are complaining after a WIN.

You fruitloops are still going on about this? In what world is kicking the field goal the aggressive play? Going for it on 4th down is the conservative play? Just when you thought you've heard it all...

This thread is the epitome of why fans are useless idiots. They don't care about wins, they don't care about legitimate performance. They want gaudy numbers that mean absolutely nothing in the long run. They don't care about what matters, they just want to look good. Ridiculous pathetic thread. These types are the ones that would tank a season to get a better draft pick. Despicable...

Personally, that TD that was called back was questionable on Sims. But that was 45 right there. And Philbin showed way more class than Belichick by running the ball into the line instead of kicking a field goal.

In football terms, it's a sign of respect.
