49ers fans reaction to J.Martin

Draft status and lack of options gave him the RT position....he was awful.

From several reports, Philbin didn't want to go into the season with Martin at LT....

Does anyone else want to see Richie end up in Seattle?

Well The gm doies no pick the starting lineups. He could have played our third round pick Dallas Thomas, or john Jerry, or Tyson Clabo or Will Yeatman or Nate Garner
Just like the previous year he could have played someone over Martin.

Sorry guys your team just acquired the human equivalent of fecal mater. The entire scandal originated by the fact that Martin was terrible at football and needed an out.

Terrible attitude

Terrible person

Terrible player

I liked the Niners before but now I'm afraid I have to root against them until Martin is collecting unemployment.

that sums it up pretty well

Sorry but Red Sox fans don't know ****, just like Patriot fans.......

Unless he suddenly experiences a dramatic improvement in his level of play, I think there's a real chance he will be a camp cut.

Perhaps, but I doubt it. Martin beat out every other offensive lineman on our squad last year and started the season at left tackle. And while his talent never impressed me and I was very vocal about it, there were plenty of people here telling me and everyone else that questioned Martin's abilities that we were wrong and that he was, in fact, good enough based on what they observed. If he can win a starting LT job on an NFL team, he certainly has the talent to at least be a decent backup anywhere else.

From SF's perspective, they have the possibility of getting a backup lineman with experience as an NFL starter for a 7th round pick. There's enough tape on Martin and Harbaugh knows him well enough that I have to think this wouldn't have even happened if Harbaugh didn't think JM had a good chance to make the cut. I'd give a 7th round pick for a decent backup any day. That's really all you're hoping for with that pick anyway. And for all we know, JM might turn into something better in a different environment where he's not distracted by all the nonsense that was going on here.

Some say that nonsense goes on everywhere. I'm not sure it happens to the same degree and with the same intensity. If JM can't handle the SF locker room, perhaps that's proof enough. But if he succeeds in SF, it makes our own situation look that much worse ...and we'll have squandered a 2nd round pick to boot. We'll see.

Nope, Richie is fine right where he is

I like this one and it is by one of the moderators:

I'm just glad he is gone....I don't hate him...I just think he is the poster boy of this new generation of people and their percieved entitlements.
(P.S...It wouldn't break my heart to hear that he is cut during camp.)

Concur.

One of the talking heads on NFL Network said something along the lines of, "Harbaugh believes there alot yet to come out of Martin".

He did not close with not that there is anything wrong with that.

@"Maybe he can slide inside" and "No, but Incognito is still a FA..." :sidelol:

I like how many over there and some here are just forgetting about or glossing over Martin's percieved mental issues. He was a hot mess last year what makes you all think he will morph into a productive player mentally this year or in the future. I haven't even mentioned that he still needs to become stronger and more physical. He may lay low for a while out there and squek by like he did here but if i was in that locker room i would avoid him like the plague fearing that anything i said would be used against me in future troubles. I wouldn't heckle him or bother him, criticize him or even say anything other than hello to the man.

They are trying to be optimistic about him. Good for them. Maybe he will move inside to guard and be a decent backup for the 49ers. Maybe he will be out of football before the first week of the season. Maybe he will cause problems in the 49ers locker room.

Maybe I just don't care anymore.

Not our problem anymore.

Best city in the USA for Martin
If Key West or Provincetown had teams he'd fit in
with flying colors

A turd is a turd, whether it's on the floor or in a toilet bowl. Martin is a turd. Luckily for the Dolphins, he was in the toilet bowl and they flushed him away to San Fran.

So glad to be done with the nonsense.
