7/25 Camp Tweets - Day 1

Only serious comment I'd like to add is that while it's not surprising that the OL is getting smacked around by our very good pass rush, what is it going to take to get good OL play on a consistent basis around here? It gets old...

People hate to admit it, but a big help with this is going to be the continued development of Ryan Tannehill and the ability to move inside and out of the pocket, quicker recognition of what the defense is doing and quicker getting rid of the ball. Also connecting on some of these longer throws which will backup the defense in more situations. It's not the solution, but it would definitely aid in the overall improvement of the entire offense.

Not sure how I feel about Jawuan James and Dallas Thomas on the same side....I thought James would be paired with a vet RG on that side

Could be wrong but Chicago started two rookies next to each other and it worked well for them. But I agree that a vet presence would be nice.

Mike Wallace on low Dolphins expectations: They're sleeping on us. We're gonna wake their ass up.

This right here is all that matters. Tired of all the naysayers... lets shock the world!

Not suprised with todays practice. New center/ 1st practice of season/ rookie tackle/ new offense. I can live with some of the things that happened.

Shoked by some of the comments of James and Wake. NEWS FLASH!!!!! WAKE IS A PROBOWL DE. One of the top in the NFL. James is a Rookie. YES the 1st practice of the season - wake is going to school the kid. He would scool all rookie tackels. BUT this is great for James. What is better than this - to take my lumos in practice by one of the best in the business. It will only make him better.

Nate Garner is working as the 2nd team left tackle. I'm not surprised, but surprised. I thought he'd get a look at center.

He is surprised or not?

Nate Garner has been a backup on this team for the longest. He is not good enough to crack the starting lineup even with all the turmoil on our OL. I have grown tired of this "jack of all trades" that never plays.

Deep passes won't happen if they O-line can't block the front four like last year. Tannehill was getting hit on 3-step drops against Buffalo last year. Who cares if the safeties and linebackers take a step back when the DTs and DEs get to the QB anyway.

Getting rid of the ball quicker will help reduce sacks...except for Buffalo who completely dominated our O-line.

This tweet really puts it into perspective.

Last training camp Mike Wallace & Ryan Tannehill connected on ONE deep ball for 5 weeks. Day one is in the books & they already have one.

1/2 is progress, and its a hell of a lot better than last year at this time.

Sounds like the O-line does need some work, but a little reminder, Miami's O-line was going to have four new starters even before Pouncey (Miami's best linemen) got surgery, having a line of of 5 new starters going against what is basically one of the best D-lines in the NFL on day one, was not going to be pretty.

There should be some concern that the O-line need to get it together quicker then expected, especially with not having your best player there to help you for at least a quarter of the season, but how they look on day one is nowhere close to an acurate indication how good they will be, as long as they continue to improve, gel, and learn each practice, there is a good chance Miami will still have a better line then they had last year.

Last year Dion Jordan couldn't defend the run because of his shoulder injury. This year he has no excuse. He's massive!

anyone see any pics lately of Jordan? I keep hearing how big he's gotten and curious now that it keeps being said so much. Is he really that big now?

He is what he is ...a versatile backup, not sure why your sick of a backup being a backup

All early offseason we hear from the coaches and from Dallas Thomas that what set him back last year was being moved all around the line without the coaches settling him into one slot. "I'm so glad I get to focus on being a left guard now" says Thomas, or something similar.

Day one training camp, where is Thomas playing? Right guard. Got to feel sorry for the kid, he can't catch a break.

I agree. The coaches should come to a consensus of their best line combo and run with it. Make a commitment to a group and let them play.
