7/27 Training Camp updates

Yup. Revis is on a mission this year. Won't be pretty. We're going to have to attack the Patriots' linebackers in pass coverage, especially on early downs. If I was Belichick I'd double team Clay, leave a safety over the top on Wallace and man up Revis on Hartline. Wouldn't want to be Tannehill in that situation.

Spread it out with Wallace, Hartline, Gibson, Landry and Moreno in the back field. I would even mix in an empty set with Clay being the 5th guy. Bombs away.

Like the deep ball.

you do? why? what "deep" balls were there out side of i think 2 that could actually be considered a "deep" ball.

this is absolutely the worst day i think tanny has had since being a dolphin, camp or in season. he had several ints today and couldnt get away from ANYONE. all this atheticism he is supposed to have needs to start showing up. there are better defenses out there than ours and we are no slouch, but if we are having this effect on him, some of these other teams are going to be cake walking.

tanny is troubling so far and this being his BIG, probably career defining season and he is looking early like the pressure of it is already effecting him. the guys who really are the true franchise qb's rise up under pressure, no matter if its a game, tiddly winks, contract year, 3rd and long with 3 seconds on the clock to win or lose the game. and i am starting to believe tanny isnt a rise above it player.

but, we seem to have had a an excellent haul this year of young talent. if this damien williams kid keeps it up, someone is going home. landry looks to MAYBE the next reggie wayne. catch's everything in his area. not "fast" but then all of a sudden he is by you and in the end zone. terrence fede, looks like he may be the real deal. trusnik making noise. ogwe ocoffumbi [or whatever the rb's name is] always making something happen. just a LOT of young names being heard over and over. GOOD FOR US.

hope james picks it up, but, i see its starks or wake getting to him and not nobody. no names schooling him.

billy turner. he is going to be on the starting o-line. they had him on both sides of the line and worked him hard and he handled his biz. its just deciding where they will need him most. thats what there doing right now. college looks like he is real. another good for us. turner can also play tackle and it just may be his natural spot. but what happens if he were to beat out ju'wan james? or even albert? that could have have repercussions from the staff to the fans to the gm. i dont care. i want the best guy in ANY position. but i dont see them even trying turner at a tackle spot after excelling at it in college. maybe they dont want those repercussions? i dunno. it looks like he and his best bud dallas thomas may end up battling head to head for the right guard spot.

dont count out turner. staffs usually give the vet [even though dallas is really only a vet by name] the first chance to shine. and thats fair. but turner has the rep of not standing out so much in practices other than how hard he works but then in the game he is a monster. and thats when thomas may lose the job, after that first pre season game.

REMEMBER: the PACKERS have had the most sacks against them in the nfl over the last several years and they succeed. if tannehill can work out his deficiencies, we will be fine. tanny isnt aaron rogers but if he can learn the long ball and get better pocket awareness and QUIT holding the ball to long, we will be a force. tanny was to blame for a good share of those sacks last year. the o-line was bad for sure, but, tanny contributed his fair share of stench.

He had one.

That would allow whoever becomes the slot receiver to get huge plays, especially if that player is Landry, who could possibly already be our best all around reciever.

All the OCDing over the deep ball reminds me of Al Davis flapping his gums back in the 80's.

all the "flapping gums" is warranted because [for those who have been following the game] this is the meat and potato's of the current nfl.

our team and its new o-coach are built around being able to get guys open deep. as far as al davis flapping gums about it in the 80's, it was just a few years back he had the best deep game in the nfl and it had won him a superbowl in an era of run-run and run some more!!

when he was still going on about it in 2001 and banking everything on it and making every draft pick go towards a a deep passing game, even if they had NO defense was goofy and un warranted. THEN it was "gum flapping".

we paid a buzillion a year to mike wallace to be the center piece of the dolphins new, modern nfl, deep pass offense. its a big deal now and well worth discussing.

hope that helped you out some.

If you're not worried about Revis you're a fool

Then again if you play terrified against him, then you have already lost. by no mean test or underestimate a dangerous player the caliber of Revis, but also if the play is there, don't change it because of the player and who he once was or could be again. Miami needs to play smart, but not afraid.

I really love the WR's we have this year. Wallace will do what you expect, its up to Tannehill to deliver him the ball when he is open. Hartline is reliable, apparently Landry is just the black version of Hartline. So now Tannehill has two security blankets, and lets not forget we still have Clay, Matthews, Gibson, Moreno and so on. This team is full of weapons...if we can't score at least 21 points per game, I will be furious. To beat the Patriots we need to score points...our defense won't stop Brady for an entire game...as we learned last season.

Ryan Tannehill just kept it on an option. Glad to see Bill Lazor will let him use his athleticism, but could it put him at risk of injuries?

Hackmar with his usual insight.

Did hoops just say revis is/was better then deion? Deion was in his own class. Revis isnt even the best in the game today

No in his prime revis has been a better all around corner than Deion was...best all around corner I have ever seen...preinjury
I hope you are being sarcastic with that comment. I mean Revis is good but he defintley can be beat just like any other player. The Eagles did alot of really cool stuff last year stacking the receivers to one side and letting them go to work so hopefully Lazor can use some of that.

Except for the fact that Tannehill had a solid day by all accounts.
