Sure. Revis is a much better tackler. But Deion had the best recovery speed maybe there's ever been at corner and better ball skills than Revis.
Revis is still a human being. An elite corner, but a human. Deion's overall physical skill set was not human. You're talking about a guy who ran in the low 4.2s -- versus Revis running in the low 4.4s to high 4.3s -- at two inches taller than Revis. People forget Deion is a full 6'1 to go along with those absolutely ridiculous COD skills and long speed.
There's a video that used to be on YouTube of Deion running down Don Beebe (who himself ran in the 4.2s) from behind. Beebe is on a punt return and is at full speed and has 10 yards on Deion but Deion runs him down in about 30 yards. I wish it was still on YouTube because it's right there with Darrell Green running down Tony Dorsett as one of the most incredible displays of speed I've ever seen. Not to mention Deion is very smart, worked hard and was a student of the game.
Which isn't to diminish the importance of tackling. It's important. But transcendent skills are transcendent skills. Tackling doesn't cut the mustard as a rebuttal.
