7/31 - camp tweets

Good to see the Smith at center experiment is over.
Also, this was the first time in a couple years I've read about the line handling the blitz well

heck yeah...especially considering it's a hip...we might be alright if we can get him back of course by the time we do if he does come back and i still kinda think he wont be personally we may be done anyways...

if it's keystone cops up front we'll be done by the bye week...

only us i guess...only us would be in these kind of dire situations

The more I hear about his recovery and surgery the more I think he will be back sooner than later. I've been trying to do as much research as possibly on a torn labrum and from what I have seen from Pouncey it looks like he had minimally invasive surgery. Much like Brandon Marshall who was able to make it back for week one. Below are the reasons why I feel that way.

First, most people who have major surgery on the hip/labrum are on crutches for a least a couple weeks. Those that have minimally invasive surgery are able to walk without crutches possibly the next day or a couple days after. From all reports, Pouncey was never on crutches. Also, he was seen by a member of finheaven at Tootsies about a week or so after his surgery and he said he didn't have a noticeable limp.

Second, Pouncey has already been seen in practice doing ladder drills and working on his kick step. Based on what I have found in relation to those exercises he is already in the third stage of is recovery period. Below is a link that is pretty descriptive on the four stages for physical therapy for a torn labrum (I would have posted part of the article but I can't due to copyright infringement). To me after reading the recovery process, and hearing the progress he is making, Pouncey is closer to being on the field than not and hopefully he can be back by week 1 or 2 at the latest.

i think if mccain makes it another position loses a slot...i would think trusnick still makes it...freeny is the one i think may be out...mccains definitely showing well in pads it seems...

if mccain makes it that could mean no 6th wr or no 4th rb or no 4th te etc...definitely that kid will be one to watch come preseason...same for a possible 5th dt...

Also good to hear McCain with a beast hit on hazel and gets a run with the 1st team. Gotta go easy on your own guys though hazel was injured

I know you're being sarcastic here. If I am trying to make a team as a rookie undrafted free agent like McCain I'm not taking it easy on anyone. He sounds impressive and he certainly has great size and athleticism. He might be a true find for us.

With our depth at WR at this point I can't see us keeping less than 6. Too many good and versatile players.

i'll have to see what this offense looks like in the preseason scheme wise and how the fringe wrs look but i'm right now at least thinking it's a 5 wr unit unless someone wins the returns job and i dont think anyone has thigpens talent for that job so i'm sticking with him making the squad

I am just so glad to see Olivier Vernon doing so well against a Probowl LT. With him and Wake our DE will cause havoc and Jordan on 3rd I like our Dline. We have so much athleticism from our DE to the DTs.

I think they keep 6 WR's. The 4 locks to me are Wallace, Hartline, Gibson, and Landry. The 5th spot will come down to Binns/Matthews and the 6th spot, if no one can prove they can return punts/kicks, which they haven't, is Thigpens.

Yea still a long way to go but hopefully we can keep as many weapons for RT as possible. McCain could take a spot from our RB's or TE's

"Omar Kelly @OmarKelly · 1h
Sam Brenner is running the ladders in his rehab assignment, testing the sore right ankle."

i'm guessing the test results showed the ankle is sorer than before he ran on it. maybe take a baseball bat to it, see what that does.

My receivers to this point would be Wallace, Hartline, Gibson, Landry and with the last spot coming down to special teams. I think Williams and Binns get cut. Matthews makes it. Thigpen will still be the returner. Hazel is an X factor to make the squad.

Rooting for AJ Francis and McCain! I was a fan of AJs last year in camp, seeing nothing but good things said about him and McCain. McCain getting even a look with the 1st team as an UFA is telling.

so apparently shelley smith got put back at RG and we had more bad snaps then before, take this haters...you know who you are....

I will keep railing about this…with the obvious need at C, why not sign a vet and allow him to roll with Colledge and maybe Smith at RG and find some chemistry? Reckless plan.

This is the same staff that started Samuda all summer and cut him at the end of the summer. SMH.
