It's Fins weekend for the Dolphins. They had a team organized golf outing and Abramson interviewed a bunch of players. Here a couple items I found interesting.

There's more in the article but most of it is about the golf tournament.

Left tackle Branden Albert said he’s impressed rookie right tackle Ja’Wuan James’ attitude.
“He wants to learn and he wants to be good,” Albert said. “He has a willingness to learn and listen. He asks a lot of questions. He looks up to me and I feel like I can’t let him down. He’s going to have some bumps in the road but we’re all going to have some bumps.”
Albert said the veteran role is nothing new for him. He was a vet on last year’s offensive line in Kansas City. And while he’ll turn 30 this year, he said he feels younger.
“My body feels really good,” Albert said. “I haven’t had any lingering injuries.”
While new safety Louis Delmas is getting all the buzz, Michael Thomas — who played the quarter of his life in a December win against New England last year and won AFC Defensive Player of the Week — has put on 10 pounds of muscle and said he’s fully ingrained as a safety.
When Thomas joined the Dolphins late last season off San Francisco’s practice squad, he still wasn’t sure if he’d be more of a cornerback or a safety.
“Everybody’s talking about it,” Thomas said of his new physique. “I feel good. I’m running around, making plays. As a safety you want to be bigger. There’s not too many under 200 pound safeties in the league. Now that I’m over 200 pounds, I feel good.”
Thomas said he’s still hearing about the Patriots game which included a game-winning deflection of a Tom Brady pass.
“I’m starting to realize how much it meant to everybody in the Miami Dolphins community,” he said. “I want to get out here and make more plays like that.”
While Thomas is hoping to get more playing time this year, safety/nickel corner Jimmy Wilson wants to start.
But Wilson excelled last year in the slot and understands he might have a similar role this year.
“You always want to start, but I feel like I’ve got a nice home at the nickel,” he said. “Whether I’m paying safety or nickel, whatever the coaches need me to do, I’m all for it. I just want to do anything I can do to help our team get to the next level.
“I think I played great (last season). I had some lingering injuries that probably hindered a couple plays, but overall I feel like I graded out well and gained the coaches’ trust. Most of all I gained my teammates’ trust that anything in the middle we have a chance at either picking off or making a big play.”
Dolphins Long snapper John Denney might not get a ton of publicity during the season, but he’s a consensus favorite at today’s Fins Weekend golf tournament.
“John Denney is pretty good,” quarterback Matt Moore said. “He’s probably the top dog.”
Denney is part of a regular group of offseason Dolphins golfers that also includes Moore, linebacker Jason Trusnik, punter Brandon Fields and receiver Brian Hartline. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill also plays on occasion.
Denney admits he’s the best of the current players. He also said it can get feisty among the regulars, although it’s all in good fun.
“It’s in our blood,” he said. “We’re all competitive.”
