A few notes on Albert, James, Thomas and Wilson

We have a lot of unknown quantities at DB. It's somewhat exciting but mostly scary. Michael Thomas at S and Will Davis at CB both represent guys with a knack for creating turnovers but both are still raw. How they develop will mean a lot down the road as our secondary starts to get older and more susceptible to injury.

You want guys like this on your team. Quality depth that has a little bit of an IT factor when the lights go on.

MICHAEL THOMAS SEIZES HIS CHANCE AT NFL GLORY.

This is the kind of depth that Miami hasn't had in years. Years man. And it came by accident, as the drafting and roster was so bereft of talent that they scoured Practice Squads mid-season. One just has to laugh. How many Practice Squad players did Miami scour last year -- how many draft picks traded mid-season -- AFTER having 11 draft picks and all the money in the world? Simply laughable. One has to laugh or he'll cry, as a Dolphin Fan.

Michael Thomas is a step in the right direction, imo. Quality depth. Turns it up on game time. Wants to be here. Good guy.

LD
p.s. Thomas made two plays at the end of the game that were above average: 1. The ability to play through the possession with physicality, knocking the ball away from Edelman. 2. The intuitive ability to sag off his WR and into the passing lane. You can't teach that -- it's pure "feel" and instinct. Man was playing for his football life and ended up w. two stellar plays that will go down in Dolphin history.

Lauren loves her some dolphin ( that's what we call Mahi Mahi in South Florida)

One of the most fun fish to catch. I was probably 11, on my way back to Miami from the Bahamas with my dad and brother and we happen on some floating wood and brush. Low and behold, right next to it is a giant school of Mahi. We get five rods in the water and they're biting so quickly that we start putting bare hooks in the water and they still bite it. Ended up catching 30 of them in about 15 minutes. It was insanity

An opening to show some fishing pictures ? Me thinks so

One of the very few things I miss about living in South Florida is the outstanding fishing. Apparently, the fishing here is great but I don't have a boat or any time to fish anyway. Bunch of BS, if you ask me!

Great fishing in the Gulf you just got to go a long way for deep water. Not sure if I would eat it though now a days.
You from Miami Buddy ?

Born and raised in West Palm Beach/Loxahatchee. My dad still lives in Loxahatchee and my brother lives in Jupiter.

Very true. Ireland was a mixed bag of good and bad, but he sure did leave us with a very nice crop of CB's none of whom cost very much comparatively.

Grimes was a steal and even resigned for a low price. Will Davis and Jamar Taylor each have talent and guys like Nolan Carroll and Jimmy Wilson were good fringe guys for low costs for several years. Hopefully Michael Thomas can be that hybrid safety/nickel we need.

Don't want Thomas winning that Nickle job full time...his game is all about facing the play...over 16 games he'd get exposed...Jimmy Wilson or one of the corners is much more ideal

Thomas is more specials and depth at safety...doubt he's even in contention for Nickle reps...run he got vs the pats was all about significant corner injury in game

That added weight is good for safety but it's not good for covering inside wrs...strength or tackling was never an issue...he's bulking up to compete full time at safety...be able to handle the physical play the position demands and the contact on a small frame

Agreed. Don't believe Wilson is a starter but, played very well in slot cover last season.

Thomas is insurance if Delmas can't go....

Ideally it is going to be Taylor or Finnigan in the nickle...

Dude those are some impressive dolphin. I wish I didn't get crazy seasick in rough water or I would have had a chance at going on some awesome fishing trips through the Bahamas, Turks and Caicos and Chub Cay.
