A few notes on Albert, James, Thomas and Wilson

Dion Jordan doesn't look that big to me.

Go find a picture of him the night he got drafted. His arms were tiny, compared to what they are now. He isn't a huge person, but compared to where he was a year ago is like night and day.

Absolutely no one was mentioning Thomas months ago. Quite frankly, after the 3 huge plays he pulled off in the win vs. Pats, I dont see why not?

another Jeff steal? oh right, that was the other guy.....lol

then i guess i am the lone guy. but outside of me, your not far off. i havnt seen anything either. i have several posts, one within the last two weeks about him on the board.

my latest was on the line of "it was one game i know, but, he was brand new a few days before the pats game and he came off the bench and into bradys head. he seems to be another one of those guys that appears to have an IT factor. i hope the coaches develope him".

i have always liked guys who when all is failed, all looks hopeless, they draw it up in the dirt and go from there and thats basically what thompson did, he had no camp and doubt he had even looked at two pages of the play book and he just came out and let his natural instincts do there thing. it wasnt some ball bouncing off 3 guys then off the goal post and he got the pic, he MADE it happen like a real db does.

i have been getting the feeling we finally have a staff that sees talent and then decides to develope it. how many times over the last 15 years or so do we see guys who look real promising in camp or pre games and then there cut and they are good players, if not great on other teams? i see the opposite at this point.

and this is one reason i made my recent post about thomas. i hadnt heard anything or read anything and NO posts about him in any thread. so i went to the one of rosters and it still showed him being on the team playing corner. that threw me because he played safety in december. now he says he is implanted at safety and he bulked up to play the position better. his attitude, his love of the game, seeing a weakness and getting right on it [his strength and bulk] and seemingly has the attention of the other players and coaches. actually is following the team and acknowledging us by saying he kept hearing from fans how much his play in the pats game meant to them and it gave him a big spark, etc... . wow!! a player who plays for the fans and his team mates? he must be from another planet.

he has been my 'ok, lets see what he's got next year" player. i am stoked about him being here still and that he is not a one game hype, he is working hard at his craft. cant ask anything more from a player.

and do not be surprised if this kid puts someone on the bench. jones wasnt all that great last year at all and looked like he was coasting. he didnt really have a threat for his job, not from jimmy wilson thats for sure. now he will. and if thomas makes plays when he is in, continues to have good camps and a good pre season, then jones better rise up because if he goes out either to an in jury or week play, he just may not get his job back.

we'll see. lots of camps and pre games left.

another Jeff steal?

i know, god, if we ONLY had him back, just for one more day!!!!

we were thin. we had injuries in the secondary. he went hunting. nothing more, nothing less. and pretty much all the real successes he had were bringing in udaf' types or canadien players he got lucky on. a gm has to be able to draft and be consistant at it. ireland was anything but. he is gone. and for the better FF54.

I AM starting to see an all around chemistry and leadership on this team. guys are coming together on both sides of the ball.

ALBERT with james and turner.

DELMAS with the young safety's.

FINNEGAN with overall leadership and veteran savy bonding with grimey.

YOUNG GUYS like turner and dallas thomas bonding and taking on leadership roles to other young and or new players.

JASON TAYLOR: providing a past dolphin, pro bowl presence and working and bonding with the DE's and pass rush.

WALLACE and HARTLINE: immediately buying into and praising bill lazors offense and taking landry under their wing and tutoring.

BILL LAZOR: coming in as a first time o/c and EARNING instant respect from the team.

there just seems to be a budding comradery and leadership right now on this team that i havnt seen in many, many years. this is how teams, champion teams are built.

if this is what it appears to be, this early, we are looking at the corner stone year of the rebirth of the miami dolphins.

I totally forgot about Thomas?

I can't believe we actually have a little depth this year.

Of course he's making the 53 off that one play (quarter) alone last year, no way this kid gets cut. Now adding on ten lbs is even more of a plus. He seems like a hard working pro so I wish him the best.

We have a lot of unknown quantities at DB. It's somewhat exciting but mostly scary. Michael Thomas at S and Will Davis at CB both represent guys with a knack for creating turnovers but both are still raw. How they develop will mean a lot down the road as our secondary starts to get older and more susceptible to injury.

Sent from my phone, so please forgive any typos.

Speaking of Dolphin greats....

Thomas, Dick Anderson, and Jones

I do enjoy these players beginning to embrace the Dolphins history...

It's nice seeing the old players having fun in the Bahamas. And also true about the "team concept, and leadership" approach we're all seeing this early in camp.

You are right, NRA -- looks like we're seeing what a whole crop of leader-like guys can do to a roster. Genuine camaraderie and esprit de corps.

Can't overrate that, imo.

I saw some stuff last year from Gibson that made me REALLY question his team mentality. I mean real cancer-like stuff. Glad that seems to be overridden w. Landry and other at the position -- and the OL is night and day different. Getting rid of turd Martin -- like flushing a megaturd sticking up the whole house. And Delmas and Finnegan seem like on and off field leaders. The rookies all have a gung-ho attitude. Can you imagine some hazing hurting these guys? Never. They'd laugh in its face and be stronger.

Lots of good vibes this year from a team standpoint.

Ryan lands a nice sailfish at Fin's weekend.
