A Little Tannehill Perspective...

LOL at wr never being open. Do not have to respect deep ball bc our O line??/
Umm no, how many has he gotten off and missed a wide open Wallace. 2 yesterday when the line held uop great all game

He put the ball out there. Superman Mike Wallace should have gone and gotten the ball. That's all he can do, right? Go catch the F'n ball speedster.... Stupidest F'n move by this team since... Ted Ginn. Mike Wallace sucks.

Hey folks, rough way to end the year -- but such is life in the NFL. My work is pretty much complete until the Senior Bowl so I thought I would drop in and provide a different perspective on Ryan Tannehill's development based on some troubling posts I've seen.

I'll keep this one simple. Tannehill has certain fundamental issues that an experienced quarterback coach will need to clean up; namely hip movement/stability (for deep throw accuracy) and pocket awareness. However, I can tell you from interacting with NFL scouts on a day-to-day basis that he is almost universally viewed as a future perennial Pro Bowler. Everyone is welcome to their own opinion; but any views suggesting he is a bust, or does not warrant further development, would be viewed as buffoonery among those that evaluate football talent for a living.

I understand frustration is high, given recent events, but please know that the quarterback position should be viewed as a major asset going forward. There is enough (warranted) criticism to be distributed elsewhere.

HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAH GMAFB
if you are a scout for the Miami Dolphins your opinion does not hold much weight. Did you think Pat White was good too? Did you want to draft Henne? Were you on board trading up to 3 for a part time player, with huge holes on the O-line? How about trading up for the worst rb in the NFL (Danielle Thomas)? How about Dallas Thomas was he your guy?? Or Sturgis in the 5th? When you scout guys do you plan on them seeing the field at all in year 1?? Funny the league thinks he is a "perennial pro bowler" I bet the Bills and jets would love for him to be in Miami for a long time!

I agree Wallace is a one trick pony

He should be the 3rd receiver on the Fins next season. We should start Gibson and a new #1. Wallace, Hartline, and Matthews can round out the group.

It is no accident that Pitt let him go in favor of Brown.

He's not a scout for the dolphins.

They offered Wallace the contract first.

Well since none of us are Miss Cleo, I will just continue to speak about what I see right now, and there is some good and some bad and that is an average qb in a nutshell. He will have his time to improve, but as time goes on, if he doesn't, the ice will become thinner and thinner under his feet. A new coach and GM will only make it worse if he doesn't. His safety net will be gone soon.

Damn straight. Tannehill ****ing sucks.

Thats why Sherman looks bad. Ive been telling you guys all year. Get a real QB and that system works just fine.

Defenses simply DO NOT fear being beaten by Tannehill. So they crowd everything and shut us down. All it would take is Tannehill burning them a few times deep and **** would open up for us.

Teams squat on comebacks and curls because thats all Tannehill can throw with any consistency.

Sherman has looked bad for a very long time. Or have you forgotten his long track record of being fired? Hell, he's been fired from his last four jobs I think (going on 5) but you're right, all that lack of success must be Tannehill's fault somehow. I mean, If Tanny was only a better player in highschool maybe Sherman wouldn't have been fired so many times in the NFL.

while he does have many good qualities, his bad ones show up and cost the team:

stares down receivers
doesn't get through progressions
little feel for weak side blitzes
bails out to the right almost every time
doesn't step through holes in the pocket
no accuracy on the deep ball
hesitant to take off and run
bad at the qb sneak
doesn't take advantage of free plays (12 men on the field / quick snap, off-sides, etc)
inconsistent at stepping through his throws
inconsistent at getting team out of bad run calls
not great at reading the end on the read option (should take it more)

These are all just made up.

 You forgot to add "forgets to eat the booger after he picks his nose" and "doesn't refuse to throw bubble screens to Mike Wallace."

i think we have found Ireland's account...

need whoever outed incognito's dad on the case...

If you don't have a viable system in place, it doesn't matter who you have at QB....you are not going to win.

THIS. My litmus test for an offensive system is, if we put the best QB in the league in this offense, how would it do? And my imagination tells me that we wouldn't have been much better off with Brees/Brady/Manning or Rodgers at the helm than Tannehill.

This is precisely the system Aaron Rodgers, the QB many would argue is currently the best in the league, plays in, ironically.

yes but how would he have done with this line, these running backs, and these receivers?
